Founded in 1766 by James Christie, Christie’s has since conducted the greatest and most celebrated auctions through the centuries providing a popular showcase for the unique and the beautiful.

Integral have the pleasure of maintaining the buildings within the UK including the Fire precaution elements to ensure the ongoing safety of staff, customers and the building fabric and artefacts.

Christies King Street Integral were instructed to undertake a Fire strategy of King Street to establish its conformity with the recommendations of both the RRO 2005 and approved document B (building regulations). Owing to the size and the quantity of the works involved, it was decided to split the works into 3 phases. Phase 1 basement, Phase 2 front of house, Phase 3 back of these works consisted identified major upgrade requirements of Fire alarm, Fire doors, Fire stopping, emergency lighting and the package incorporated CCTV and access control systems. The works were undertaken over a 4 year period to ensure the works could be undertaken while normal business could continue.

The majority of the works were undertaken outside normal working hours and the challenge was to ensure the existing fire systems and emergency lighting systems were fully operation throughout the whole of the installation period.

To enhance the existing fire alarm system, fire curtains, VESDA systems and a graphics package were incorporated into the multi networked addressable system.
