Cardamom is one of my new favorite spices. It can be used in both sweets like coffee cake, and savory dishes. It is native to India and pairs well with ginger, curry, cinnamon and clove. It also supports your health with benefits linked to improving cardiovascular functions, gut and intestinal health, and inflammation responses in the body. Best of all it’s delicious! I loved the way these tri-color carrots looked and roasting brings out the natural sweetness while allowing each color to maintain its own distinct flavor. Enjoy!

The Book Report “Andrew Jackson and the Miracle of New Orleans” By Brian Kilmeade and Don Yaeger A book review by Brian Favretto
I believe that you can learn something from every book you read. I enjoy feeding my brain with well-spun tales of suspense and mystery, as well as the occasional good old fashioned love story. From time to time I find a book that incorporates a well told story with suspense, love, and most of all a learning experience. I have found such a novel in Brian Kilmeade and Don Yaeger’s latest, “Andrew Jackson and the Miracle of New Orleans”.
When the British arrived, Jackson’s army was ready. During the battle, he put together a land-and-sea assault, marched undetected into the enemy’s camp, effectively struck the British, and slipped away unseen. He had surprised the British and proven that he was a force to be reckoned with. In time, the British retreated, never again to invade our country’s shores. I learned a lot from this book. I knew very little about the War of 1812, often an afterthought in history textbooks, and I knew even less about Andrew Jackson. Kilmeade and Yaeger did a wonderful job of telling the backstory of both Jackson and the war, then carefully describing the events that brought them together. They may have made Jackson out to be a bit too saintly, and I feel they spent much more time building up the battle than they did writing about the battle itself, but these are minor complaints. They were successful in keeping me interested throughout the book, and they brought an often overlooked event in American history into mainstream media. Most importantly, in our country’s current factionalized state, they demonstrated how America once overcame similar divisions in order to protect our liberty. The American people came together in a time of crisis, people of all colors and backgrounds, forgot their differences for a time, and united their resolve for the sake of preserving this beautiful country.
This historical narrative opens with a brief history of Andrew Jackson’s childhood, specifically the summer of 1781 when he lost his father, mother and brother at the hands of British soldiers, and he vowed to one day settle the score. He became a lawyer and married into a prominent family, later being elected major general of the state-sponsored Tennessee militia in 1802. As the War of 1812 loomed, Jackson immediately saw the need to protect the mouth of the Mississippi River from a British invasion. If the British were to be able to access the river, they could conquer America’s newest infant, the Louisiana Territory, and effectively end the nation’s westward progress. New Orleans, as Jackson saw it, was the most important city on the map. He was able to convince the War Department to mobilize his Tennessee militia volunteers in order to protect the city. Jackson was prepared to defend the city to the last man, or burn it down in order to keep it out of British hands. But first he had some work to do. Kilmeade and Yaeger do a wonderful job of telling us a bit about Jackson’s character, as he was able to start by rallying the city to stand behind him. He used diplomacy to gain the trust of fearful citizenry, and he assembled a force of volunteers that included freed slaves, indians, pirates, woodsmen, militiamen and French colonials. He ordered that black soldiers be treated the same as the white volunteers, a shocking attitude during that time. He gained the trust of his men, and they were willing to fight to save their country.
If you’re interested in learning about the War of 1812, Andrew Jackson, the results of working together for a common goal, and how a miracle fits into all of this, reserve your copy of “Andrew Jackson and the Miracle of New Orleans” at any of our local libraries. “Andrew Jackson and the Miracle of New Orleans”, Sentinel Books, 2017.

Students of 08742 Point Boro Superintendent Receives Enormous Box of Valentine’s Cards from Ocean Road Elementary School Students by Jacquelyn Goss
The role of a school superintendent can be difficult at times. Handling the daily trials and tribulations of thousands of teenagers, adolescents, and children is not without its issues. Add to that the occasional dispute that can arise, and the job can sometimes be quite challenging. Yet it’s a role that Point Pleasant Borough School District Superintendent Vincent S. Smith embraces happily and with gratitude. And that sense of appreciation is reciprocated by nearly all of the 3000 students that attend Point Pleasant Borough Schools.
Challenge Week or not, though, the week’s theme simply helped serve to motivate the students to express their gratitude to Superintendent Smith, thanking him for everything from being their friend to helping support their school as well as a way to share general messages of love, support and kindness. Every single one of the 500+ cards depicted a unique message, frequently accompanied by original artwork and occasionally candy, designed to wish Superintendent Smith well this Valentines.
At no time was this sense of gratitude quite as visible as it was on Feb. 14, 2018 or Valentine’s Day as the date is widely celebrated. That was the day when Ocean Road Elementary School Principal Sheila Buck delivered to Superintendent Smith a huge red construction paper wrapped box – 19” tall by 13.3” wide – stuffed to the brim with roughly 500 handmade Valentines, created by the school’s entire student body, from preschoolers through students in grade 5. The box was also adorned with construction paper hearts and a select few Valentines, which were taped to the outside of the box
Third grader Sadie Bober’s card read, “I hope you have a very awesome Valentine’s Day. We are really happy to have all the great things we do have in ORS.” A student in Mr. Grace’s third grade class wrote, “You’re the best Superintendent. Oh yes, you’re the absolute best!” First grader Julius Reaves’ card, which was adorned with a lovely picture, read,” Dear Mr. Smith, thank you for keeping our school safe
“Superintendent Smith is such a visible presence in our school,” said Ocean Road Principal Sheila Buck on Valentine’s Day. “In fact, just last week, he came and ate lunch with our students for No One Eats Alone Day, which is part of our schools Great Kindness Challenge. He’s a big part of what happens in the school and the students understand and appreciate that.”
Another read, “Dear Mr. Smith, Hapey [sic] Valentine’s Day! You’re awesome. Thank you so vary [sic] mach [sic] for everything you do!” And one Justin V. wrote, “Dear Mr. Smith, You are my Valentine. You are the greatest superintendent ever! When there is snow days we all know you decide weather [sic] we go to school or stay home. Sometimes you decide we stay home. I love that! Have a great Valentine’s Day!”
The Great Kindness Challenge, according to Principal Buck is a grassroots movement that encourages participants to perform as many kind deeds as possible during one week with the goal of making the world a kinder and more compassionate place.
There were pop-up cards, 3D cards, tiny cards, oversized cards, cards with candy and so many more.
The Challenge was created in 2006 by Kids for Peace, an organization whose mission is to cultivate every child’s innate ability to foster peace through cross-cultural experiences and hands-on arts, service and environmental projects. What started as a neighborhood group of kids wanting to make the world a better place, has grown into an interconnected network of young peacebuilders worldwide.
But every card held a similar message of love and gratitude for Superintendent Smith. And during the long Presidents’ Day weekend, the superintendent took the entire box of cards home with him so that he could read each and every one and reflect on their messages. “It’s clear that each and every one of these cards were written from the heart,” said Superintendent Smith. “And that’s what makes them so meaningful. I cannot adequately express my gratitude and appreciation to the students and staff at Ocean Road School for helping to brighten my Valentine’s Day and communicating their thoughtful, heartfelt message. It means more than I can say.”
During the Challenge week, students commit various acts of kindness, designed to encourage them to think of and perform their own good deeds. And it’s a job they take very seriously.

Rover Rescue The Doggy Games by Lauren Kehoe
The Winter Olympics are a great time to broadcast talented athletes from around the globe. While human competitors often get all the recognition, dogs have their own list of sports. Luckily, dogs don’t have to be amazing, competitive athletes. Dog athletics or activities can be purely a source of enjoyment or fun. One fun game to play with is agility. While professional agility courses are great, it’s easy to set up your own. Some useful objects include low tables or platforms, pieces of wood to make into an A-frame, something thin to jump over, or a tunnel. Luring dogs onto the equipment with food is the first step. If a dog seems unsure or nervous of something, instead of pushing the dog to do it, you can slow down and feed treats next to or near the obstacle. Building positive associations over time will make your dog more comfortable than flooding and forcing them to do something. Once your dog masters an obstacle, you can start chaining them together, such as going from table to A-frame to tunnel. It doesn’t always have to be a race; agility is a great form of physical and mental enrichment to keep you and your furry best friend active.
Lauren Kehoe is an avid animal lover and dog owner.
Another idea is treibball. Treibball may not be as widely recognized as agility, but that doesn’t mean it’s not as fun. Think of treibball as sheep herding, but replace the sheep with a ball. Both herding and non-herding dogs can benefit from treibball. Beginning treibball involves shaping and targeting. Its great to start with a light, basketball-sized ball. You can begin by marking with either a cue word (yes, good, etc) or clicker and treating when your dog looks at the ball. Once he or she masters that, you can increase the gradient. Start rewarding when your dog touches the ball with a paw or nose, and work up to actually moving it. The goal is eventually to move the balls through targets. A game that requires even less training is nosework. All you need is some empty cardboard boxes and some treats (or toys depending on your dogs’ motivation). Keep your dog in another space so you can hide treats under the boxes. Start out with the boxes closer together, and spread them out or increase the difficulty the more you practice. Then, let your dog find them. Voila! It might not seem like much, but it is another activity that engages many of your dogs’ senses. Most of these activities can be done at home by anyone. You can increase difficulty, time the activity, and set your own goals. If you have a competitive streak or your dog is especially gifted, there are groups, competitions, and leagues out there. If you can’t find one in your area, be a trailblazer and make one! Chances are there are plenty of others out there looking for fun games for their own pup.

Fashion Frenzy Frustrated by Fashion? Consignment is the Cure! By Denise Brady Acanfora, Certified Personal Stylist and Owner, The Urban Exchange
I hate the idea of copying latest trends. One’s allure doesn’t necessarily depend on what one’s wearing. In my book, a person with style is someone who has grace and a kind of bloom about them, who knows themselves inside and out, who knows what suits them and plays with it. — Pascale Monvoisin
And maybe that’s why you feel frustrated by fashion. Because copying the latest trends has led you to feel foolish. Maybe you don’t connect with the latest looks shown in department stores. Department stores and chain stores have stacks of the same sweaters and piles of the same pants. So, if they are showing colors that don’t appeal to you and cuts that don’t flatter your body type you will leave feeling frustrated. Then you will begin to believe that shopping is no fun (GASP!) because you never find something you love and feel good wearing. So, may I suggest another option? Consignment shopping! Consignment shops have a wide array of cuts, colors ,styles and designers from which to pick. It’s not cookie cutter fashion , it’s more like a free style of fashion. There’s usually a wide variety to choose from – ranging from vintage to current day. Isabell Thomas says that “style has very little to do with money – elegance and originality are qualities that can’t be purchased.” But I do believe that these qualities can be cultivated by shopping consignment. Here’s the best way to make the most of consignment shopping and create the personal and unique look you crave.

Parental Guidance Digital Footprints By Maureen Whelan
Can you remember a time when family stories were shared through stories, and the occasional picture pulled out of the vinyl wallet insert? The stories that were shared had time to ripen into softer, sweeter versions of the original truth. The images were created in the listeners mind, and were absent of negative attributes. As a function of human memory, we record only the most important details, often the emotion that was tied to that hallmark moment. This function allowed stories to change from worrisome to humorous, and from embarrassing, to non-existent. Both suppression and substitution of memories allow our focus to switch off to more pleasant topics. This is a survival mechanism, as when our brains are stressed, we are not able to process information effectively, thus we push the stress aside to improve cognition, and overall mood. Well, if video killed the radio star, then Facebook killed the wallet fold. Now, when I log onto Facebook, I see some really heartwarming posts. First words, first steps, and “I love you’s”. These beautiful moments are stuffed between the daily feed of political trash, world tragedy, advertisements and obscene meme’s. These are the moments that are so special, they should be locked up in a memory safe, and held forever. They should be retold, relived and felt over and over again. No longer are they treasured at family gatherings or over coffee with friends. They are now viewed for only a few seconds, with the social media post reaching the end of its digital “life” within 3 hours (....Lifespan of Facebook Posts by “Postplanner.com). Most people do not adjust the privacy settings on the posts about their children, allowing any of their hundreds of digital “friends” to view the post. The child who should be celebrated is now open to praised or mocked, copied, altered, memed and even stolen by those, with less than altruistic intentions. It’s no wonder anxiety and depression is on the rise in our youth. I resisted the “In Your Face(book)” movement for years until recently. I can’t argue that it’s an easy way to reconnect with old friends. There are amazing professional pages, that allow sharing of knowledge and experiences. Local news and school events are easily shared. There are even good deeds that go “viral”, allowing our incredible shore towns to give support to Texans suffering from hurricane damage. There is some good in all this social media craze. But we need to be cautious about the downside of personal posting. Our children are getting robbed of their identity, not the one we bestow upon them as their parents, but the identity they choose to create for themselves. They are getting robbed of the freedom of human memory, failing to recall those negative moments. While some adults may see the diaper clad dancing toddler as cute, once these videos go viral the commenting by strangers can become harsh. When these now “public” images are stolen and placed on private websites, the comments are down right grotesque. A National Public Radio article cited the following: “For example, an unscientific survey of an online child pornography site by an Australian government official found a significant chunk of the photos had initially been shared by parents on sites such as Facebook and Instagram. The photos themselves were mostly innocent, everyday scenes of kids playing, but they were accompanied by explicit, inappropriate comments. The Australian official estimated that “about half” of the 45 million images “appeared to be sourced directly from social media.” Our children are growing up in a world with virtual threats to their safety, identity and future. The reality is our young babies and toddlers don’t care how many likes their pictures get, until we teach them that it is important. I’ve heard complaints about posts, and I’ve overheard other children request their parents “not put that on Facebook”. We need to listen to those little voices. We need to put down our phones, disconnect from our 300+ “friends and enjoy the memories that are being made daily. The emotional connection made with your child as you share a laugh at bath time is special, and should be treasured as such.
To be in
your child’s
memories tomorrow, you need to be in their
lives today. — Barbara Johnson

A Forum for Parents & Students by Jacquelyn Goss
Since they were introduced in 2006, the use of electronic cigarettes or vapes has exploded, especially among youth and teens. Between 2011 and 2016 – the most recent year with statistical use data - e-cigarette use has risen among adolescents from 1.5 percent to 16.2 percent.
These alarming e-cigarette statistics coupled with emerging date has inspired the Point Pleasant Borough School District to aggressively target this growing epidemic. On Wed. Mar. 28, the district will host a forum for parents and students entitled Vaping: Danger in Disguise, the Medical and Behavioral Implications of Vaping. The forum begins at 7:00 p.m. in Point Pleasant Borough High School’s Auditorium.
Though the advertisement of cigarettes on television has been banned since 1971, electronic cigarettes are aggressively marketed on TV and other mainstream media channels. In fact, spending on advertising of electronic cigarettes has tripled each year since 2011 and much of the advertising is directly targeted at youth. Plus, studies have shown that the manufacturers of e-cigarettes are employing similar techniques to those used by cigarette companies to increase use of cigarettes by youth, including: candy-flavored products; themes that resonate with youth, such as rebellion, glamour and sex; celebrity endorsements; and sports and music sponsorships.
School district administrators will join local health experts for a frank discussion on the on the growing use of e-cigarettes or vapes among teens and children. Though many of the long-term health effects of vaping remain unknown, our panel of experts will share the latest data and known health risks vaping causes. Find out about the Point Pleasant Borough School District’s educational efforts aimed at preventing vaping and where health experts envision this dangerous trend heading in the future. Attendees will also have the opportunity to have their questions answered by the experts. Panelists Include: Regina Foley, PHD, MBA, RN....Chief Operating Officer, Southern Ocean Medical Center Dr. Rocco Giliberti, D.O..............Internal Medicine Dr. Gus De La Luz, M.D..............Pulmonologist, Shore Pulmonary Dr. Eric Alcera, M.D....................Adolescent Psychiatrist Kurt Karcich................................Principal, Point Pleasant Borough High School Jim Foley.....................................Student Assistance Counselor, Point Pleasant Borough Schools
In a randomized controlled trial performed by the CDC, adolescents who viewed e-cigarette TV advertisements reported a significantly greater likelihood of future e-cigarette use compared with the control group. They were also more likely to agree that e-cigarettes are harmless. Further, a study performed by the National Institute on Drug Abuse shows teens are misinformed about the contents of the liquid in their e-cigarettes. According to the survey, 66 percent of teens thought the liquid contained just flavoring; 13.7 percent didn’t know; only 13.2 percent correctly identified nicotine; 5.8 percent believed the vape liquid included marijuana; and 1.3 percent provided other responses. The National Institute on Drug Abuse also found that 30.7 percent of teen e-cigarette users are more likely to begin smoking traditional cigarettes within six months compared to 8.1 percent of non-users.
With an introduction by Vincent S. Smith Superintendent, Point Pleasant Borough Schools “Our district is committed to taking a proactive approach to all public health issues and vaping certainly meets the criteria,” said Superintendent Smith. “There seems to be a persistent misperception that the use of e-cigarettes is safe and that’s just patently false.
These statistics are alarming, but even more alarming is the pervasive belief that e-cigarettes are harmless; however, according to the Chief Operating Officer of Southern Ocean Medical Center Hospital Regina Foley, PHD, MBA, RN, though data is emerging, enough is simply not known about the long-term effects of vaping.
“E-cigarettes can lead to addiction and other health issues and the district feel it is our duty to educate students, parents and the committee about the health risks,” he said. “I strongly urge all parents as well as appropriately-aged students to attend this forum. Now is the time to discuss what we, as a community, can do to protect the health of our students before they become a statistic.”
“The fact is that health services personnel simply do not know what we do not know,” Said Ms. Foley. “Although what we do know, does indicate that e-cigarettes are definitely not harmless.”
For more about the Point Pleasant Borough School District, visit www.pointpleasant.k12.nj.us.
The primary ingredient in the vape liquid is nicotine, which is known to be addictive; however, e-cigarettes also contain: formaldehyde and β-nicotyrine, known cancer causing agents; metal and silicate particles, which are toxic to human cells; and propylene glycol, a lung and eye irritant.

Legal Ease A column that simplifies areas of the legal industry for every day consumption. This month’s topic...
A Law Firm Where Every Client Matters!
Driving on the Revoked List by Christopher J. Grenda, Esq.
In New Jersey, there are thousands of summonses issued to drivers annually. Driving on the Revoked List is controlled by statute, the law is codified under N.J.S.A. 39:3-40. A New Jersey driver can be suspended or revoked based on various infractions, some common examples, although not an exhaustive list, are as follows: • A driver accumulates 12 or more motor vehicle points; • A Judge orders the suspension as part of a legal proceeding; • Probation may request a suspension through the family court based on a failure to pay child support; or • A failure by a driver to pay court fines and/or motor vehicle surcharges. In order for the State to prove a defendant is guilty of driving while on the revoked list, the prosecutor must prove two elements. First, the State must prove that the defendant was actually operating a motor vehicle. Second, the State must prove that the defendant operated the motor vehicle during a period of suspension. See N.J.S.A. 39:3-40. The penalties for driving on the revoked are serious in New Jersey. A first offender is subject to punishment that includes a fine of $500.00 and a period of suspension for up to six months. A second offender is subject to punishment that includes a fine of $750.00, a period of incarceration from 1 to 5 days, and a period of suspension for up to six months. A third and subsequent offender is subject to punishment that includes a fine of $1,000.00, a mandatory period of incarceration for 10 days, and a period of suspension for up to six months. By way of mitigating De Minimis infractions, a defendant who is charged with driving on the revoked list, and who is on the revoked list for the non-payment either a parking ticket or court fines can plead guilty to a lesser offense provided under the statute and only be subject to a fine of $100.00. See N.J.S.A. 39:3-40(i). Moreover, the Statute provides for a mandatory 45-day period of incarceration for those defendants who were involved in a motor vehicle accident involving personal injury to another person. Of critical importance, in 2010, the New Jersey Legislature enacted a new statute that now criminalizes the offense of driving on the revoked, if the license suspension was due to: (1) being found guilty or pleading guilty to two or more offenses of driving on the revoked and both of those offenses were related to the same DWI; or (2) the license suspension was due to a second or subsequent DWI or Refusing to Submit Breath Samples. See N.J.S.A. 2C:40-26. This offense is classified as a 4th degree crime and is punishable with a fine of up to $10,000.00 and a period of incarceration of at least 6 months and up to 18 months.

Healthy Morsels, II Avoiding a Life of Chronic Dieting by Lynn O’Hara
I heard two interesting things in the news just today. One filled me with hope and the other, dismay. Let’s start with the dismay because I always like to end my articles on a good note. Weight Watchers has recently advertised free meetings and memberships for children as young as 13 years old. Wait, what?? As if a 13 year old or 14 year old or even 25 year old for that matter needs to sign up for life long dieting? There are so many things wrong with this I hardly know where to start. The implied and real messages here are astounding. Why do people go to diet meetings? Because they want to lose weight. A child need not be told they need to lose weight. How does anyone feel when he or she is told that? It doesn’t feel good. It’s one thing for an adult to choose to go to a diet meeting but it’s another thing all together for a parent to bring their child. Take your kid to the movies or the park or to the zoo. There are so many better ways to teach your child how to eat healthy and well and they don’t start at diet meetings. Thirteen is a prime age for eating disorders to set in and believing that one needs a diet program is potentially a start to that. Teens need to be told they are wonderful no matter what their size is. Given support and love, overweight teens will figure out on their own when and how and if they want to lose weight. There is a great book on the market called, “Weight Loss Confidential: How Teens Lose Weight and Keep It Off- and What They Wish Parents Knew” by Anne M. Fletcher MS, RD. Well meaning parents who get too involved in trying to
make their kids lose weight actually Lynn O’Hara, MS, RD, LPC impart messages that their child is not Licensed Psychotherapist Registered Dietitian good enough until and unless they lose (732) 899-9312 weight. Healthy changes made at home www.lynnoharalpc.com in how the whole family eats and moves is a good way to impart healthy messages about eating and exercise. Taking a child to a Weight Watchers meeting is not. This brings me to the hopeful message I saw today. Stop and Shop in Point Pleasant had free fruit out for kids under 10 years old! This is awesome! Think of all the kids who go to the store with their parents and ask for something to eat. Stop and Shop had free clementines and bananas for the smaller folk. These are healthy messages to give to kids. In changing what we eat at home we can impart the biggest message to kids; healthy eating is a good thing, not a punishment for being overweight. I know there are many things in the news today that can spark our anger. It’s exhausting, actually. The Weight Watchers news is something we can fight. Don’t set your kids, especially your daughters, up for a life of chronic dieting. Avoid the call of the company who wants to profit from the unhappiness of many. Tell your kids you love them no matter what their size is. Then go food shopping together, get ingredients for a good meal and cook together. While you’re at it, enjoy some free fruit! Until next time, eat healthy, be happy!

Back to Earth Invite Fresh Energy into Your Home for Springist by Natalie Berko
Spring is the season of growth, manifestation, and celebration all of which reflect the beauty of nature’s renewal and a genuine hope for new beginnings. When you are truly in tune with the energy of spring, you can tap into the source of miracles! Now is the time to take bold steps and manifest your dreams. A good spring cleaning of your home can do wonders for your personal energy. Your surroundings will thank you for your care in return by nourishing and strengthening you. Feng Shui can help with a variety easy powerful tips for spring cleaning your home. Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese system for arranging your surroundings in harmony and balance with the natural world around you. In Chinese the words Feng Shui mean “wind and water”. The purpose of this practice is to get your environment in alignment with who you areand where you want to go, a harmonization of your personal energy with your home’s energy. There are three power principles in Feng Shui, “Chi”, “The Five Elements”, and “The Bagua”. “Chi” is energy, it’s constantly moving, changing shape, and speed. It’s something we feel all around us, making us feel either good or bad. The goal of Feng Shui improvements is to keep the chi flowing gently throughout your environment. The five elements is a collective name used to describe the shapes, textures, and colors around you. The elements are fire, earth, metal, water, and wood. Each of the elements is distinguished by a characteristic shape,
colors, and set of attributes. Feng Shui improvements balance all of these elements in your interior environment. The third power principle of Feng Shui is “The Bagua”. The Bagua is a chart used to map the areas of a hone and determine where to locate the objects and colors that represent the five elements. Traditionally the Bag is an octagon (the word Bag means “8 sided” in Chinese). Modern approaches to Feng Shui use a grid-shaped chart to map nine areas of your life. - Power/Wealth/Abundance - Fame/Fortune/Reputation - Love/Relationships/Marriage - Creativity/Children/Legacy - Compassion/Travel/Helpful People - Self/Career/Work - Knowledge/Wisdom/Harmony - Family/Health/Community - Well-Being/Balance

5 Feng Shui Tips for Spring Cleaning Your Home 1. Declutter your Kitchen: The stat of your kitchen is the state of your health, so be sure to get rid of all items cluttering and blocking energy flow in your kitchen (especially your cupboards and the freezer.) Let go of all harsh chemical kitchen cleaners and go for natural ones. Create a fresh pathway for strong vibrant Chi to flow and nourish your energy.
As spring time is the best time for clearing stagnant energy in your home. When doing your space clearing some things you may want to consider are: • Color: adds emotional, physiological, and cultural content to our lives. • Sound: is used to connect us to others in our environment. Music is a powerful way to uplift the chi in any environment and can sooth stressful home or office situations.
2. Decorate with plants: Bring three new pots with vibrant Feng Shui green plants to refresh the energy of your space and symbolize, as well as ground, the energy of new beginnings. Focus on your front entrance, as well as your kitchen, as both are strongly connected to your health.
• Lightning: a simple way to bring more chi into your environment, especially full-spectrum light bulbs that stimulate natural light.
3. Clean your bedroom and bathroom: Thoroughly clean your bedroom and your bathroom, get rid of anything that you haven’t used in the past 6 months. Clear the space under the bed, clear the windows, refresh and decorate for spring both your bedroom and your bathroom.
• Art: can enhance the chi, whether it is a painting, sculpture, or textile. The selection and placement of art depends on the area of the bagua you need to activate. • Growing Things: healthy plants and flowers connect you with the natural world.
4. Make space in your closets: If you would like to welcome a new love relationship into your life, make space, actual physical space. You literally create an open flow of energy in your home to be able to attract and manifest more of what you are looking for.
• Water Features: such as fountains and aquariums stimulate the movement of chi in and around your home. • Wind Sensitive Objects: such as fountains and aquariums stimulate the movement of chi in and around your home.
5. Clear your space: Last but not least, be sure you understand the importance of space clearing and are comfortable with at least a simple Feng Shui space clearing session for your home.
