Practical Training is an integral part of the B.Arch curriculum. The main purpose of this training or internship period is for us to students to gain some professional experience and for us to understand the day-to-day working of an architectural firm.
I worked as a Trainee Architect for 5 Elements Design Cell, Mumbai , under the guidance and support of Ar. Mugdha Patki. My responsibilities during this internship included collecting data for projects, conceptual designing, planning and preparing working drawings and municipal drawings.
LOCATION: LONAVALA, MAHARASHTRA
The client wanted a farmhouse incorporating aparking and a servant's room in the ground floor, a living room, bedroom and a terrace on the first floor. I was given the task of producing detailed plans and elevations outof the views provided. This project helped me learn transforming views into plans and also that attimes the clients are not aware of some features or spaces they might require. As architects, it is our duty to provide them with these spaces while explaining their importanceandfunctionality.
