‟The Roof of Africa”:
What you need to make it up Kilimanjaro
Langston Hughes Festival of New Plays
• $$$$$$: Kilimanjaro isn’t for everyone! • Training: Make sure you exercise before you embark on your adventure. • No need to speak the local language; your guide speaks English! • A headlamp (especially if you don’t look like a typical tourist). • Trekking poles • A sturdy water bottle • Warm clothing and a sleeping bag (Don’t worry, the porters will carry it for you.)
• More $ to tip your guides, chef, and porters (Don’t sweat it if you forget; most people don’t tip much, or even at all.)
