Bell Helicopter and TRU Simulation + Training Inc., announced last month that the Bell Helicopter Training Academy (BTA) in Valencia, Spain, along with its Bell 429 full flight simulator (FFS), have been certified by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). These certification milestones mark the official completion of the training facility. BTA-Valencia was designed to serve the training needs of European, Middle Eastern and other global customers, beginning with pilot training on the Bell 429. Now fully operational, BTA-Valencia offers EASA initial type rating and recurrent courses, regular factory initial and refresher training, along with the option for wet and dry lease contracts to Bell Helicopter’s global customer base. BTA-Valencia instructors each have more than 5,000 hours of helicopter experience across multiple platforms and bring English, French, Spanish and Italian language capabilities to the facility. UK Cabri G2 Fleet is Largest in the World Cotswold Helicopter Centre, distributor for the Cabri G2 helicopter, reveals that the UK fleet of the French two-seater Guimbal Cabri G2 helicopter continues to be the largest in the world. With 25 aircraft, one seventh of the total production of the Cabri G2 flies in British airspace. This success is attributed to both the aircraft and the marketing efforts of distributor Cotswold Helicopter Centre. To ensure a good introduction of the type into the UK market, Cotswold invested in a fleet of seven CHECK aircraft which they lease out to operators around the country, giving each a level of exclusivity for an initial period. This approach led to a good geographical coverage and Cotswold continues to expand the British fleet and has a further four Cabri G2s on order from the factory. ■ More information from: www.flychc.com

Heli-One’s Rzeszow, Poland, facility has received EASA approval to provide base maintenance services for the Leonardo AW139 aircraft. Launched in 2014, the facility provides base maintenance support forAS332, H225 and H135 aircraft. It also offers component repairs, including AW139 exhaust ducts. Together with recent EASA approval for AW139 tail assembly modifications, the facility will provide in-country maintenance for AW139 operators with fast turn-around times. The 65,000 square foot facility in Poland has a maintenance hangar capable of accommodating up to six large airframes, a fully equipped avionics workshop, a structure shop with a specialised tail boom repair area, and a dedicated paint bay.
