Knox County seeking extradition of subjects

YATES CITY – Several suspects in open cases from Yates City have been arrested in other jurisdictions, and some may be extradited to face Illinois charges, according to police. • Thomas Tenbrook, 47, of Elmwood was arrested Aug. 15 in Madison County, Ill., on a theft charge stemming from a check with nonsufficient funds written to Quick Stop in Yates City in July. The amount with fees is $192.06, police said. • Timothy Hayes, 31, of Peoria was arrested Aug. 17 in Kenosha, Wis., on a theft warrant stemming from a July incident in Yates City, according to reports. • Daniel Welch, 42, formerly of Yates City, was arrested Aug. 22 in Grundy County, Mo., in connection with a warrant charging him with theft of material from the Salem Township Library. Yates City Police said he also has pending charges in Missouri and an extradition date is unknown. • Welch and Krystal Price, 37, formerly of Yates City, also face charges of theft of items valued at less than $300 for allegedly taking bicycles and other material in February, police reported.

Farmington police make hate-crime arrest FARMINGTON – Bradley Stanley, 37, of Farmington on Sept. 16 was arrested by Farmington police in connection with a Sept. 15 incident on West Main Street, where he’s accused of escalating an argument with a neighbor, pushing him and using slurs, before fleeing the

scene, according to Police Chief Carl Powell. Stanley was booked on a hatecrime charge, plus a charge of battery. He was transported to the Fulton County Jail.

Two ticketed for traffic, obstructing charges

ELMWOOD – Two Elmwood residents on Aug. 10 were stopped by Yates City Police, who ticketed one for driving while his license was suspended and the other for obstructing, Yates City Police Chief Randy Benson reported last week. Michael Wiltgen, 22, was ticketed for the traffic offense and transported to the Knox County Jail. Elizabeth Haines, 48, was arrested for obstructing identification and issued a Notice To Appear after she refused to provide an ID and was uncooperative with officers, according to reports.

Elmwood resident hurt in single-car accident

ELMWOOD – Lynn Allen, 40, of Elmwood on Sept. 14 was injured when the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe she was driving northbound on Maher Road slipped off the pavement, glanced off one culvert and came to rest after traveling about 150 yards and striking a second culvert. B.Y.E. ambulance transported her to UnityPoint Methodist Medical Center.

• Denise Hurst, 55, of Yates City on Aug. 3 reported the apparent theft of a package of items worth about $75 from her porch in the 300 block of South Dixon Street,

Yates City Police said last week. • Marcus Lopeman, 28, of Yates City on Aug. 5 was ticketed for driving with no valid registration and no proof of insurance, Yates City Police said last week. • Madisson Benson, 48, of Yates City on Aug. 22 reported the apparent theft of goods worth abut $260 from a residence in the 100 block of East Fulton Street, Yates City Police said last week. • Shane M. Decker, 30, of Farmington on Aug. 29 was ticketed by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office For driving while license suspended. • On Sept. 14, a theft was reported to Elmwood police by residents in the 100 block of West Cypresss, where an item valued at more than $500 was missing. • The Martin-Sullivan implement company in Brimfield on Sept. 15 reported a burglary and damages of about $2,000 to a glass door. • Alexandria Simkins, 22, of Fairview on Sept.16 was arrested by Farmington police for Driving Under the Influence, operating a vehicle without insurance, driving without headlights and illegal transportation of alcohol, and a passenger, Victoria Ewing, 21, of Wataga, in the same incident was arrested for illegal transportation of alcohol.
