Travel Advice

We would ALWAYS recommend, where possible, travelling to the Carnival by foot.

Access for foot traffic will be via Myddleton Lane (Leisure Centre & Park entrances) & via Faringdon Road only. Please note that there will be no access via The Swan/Premier Inn car park.

Please be aware there is, sadly, no ATM in the village and, currently, no contactless/card payments accepted on the gate which remain cash only.

If travelling by foot is not possible or practical there is a regular bus (No.19 Warrington – Culcheth – Leigh & vice-versa) run by Warrington’s Own Buses which stops on Myddleton Lane in the village.

From Warrington Bus Interchange at 12.02 and 14.02

From Leigh Bus Station at 12.54 & 14.54

There is NO public car parking onsite on the day due to the safety of everyone walking around the field being prioritised.

Please be aware that Myddleton Lane will, undoubtedly, be very busy and we do not recommend parking there. If you MUST park on a residential street please ensure you are not blocking any entrances or causing a hazard to residents and/or other drivers!

There is a small car park situated alongside the St Oswald’s Church accessed via Church Walk though this is not owned by the Carnival and may be in use/full on the day.

The car park at The Swan/Premier Inn is privately owned and you may be charged for parking there, please be aware that none of that money goes towards the Carnival.

Winwick Carnival are not responsible or liable for any damage to vehicles offsite.

Please bear with us as we navigate this new payment system, and we appreciate your patience and understanding during this learning curve.

We are thrilled to welcome you to this year's carnival and look forward to a day of joy, laughter, and community spirit.

Thank you for your support, and let's make this carnival a truly memorable event for everyone!

Congratulations to the organizers of the Winwick Beer Festival 2024!

On behalf of all attendees, we, on the Winwick Carnival Committee, extend our heartfelt thanks for your hard work and dedication in making this year's festival a resounding success. The excellent range of beers, lagers, and ciders on offer truly showcased the craftsmanship and variety that the brewing industry has to offer.

Your meticulous planning and attention to detail did not go, jealously, unnoticed, and it is evident that your passion for creating a memorable experience for all guests shone through in every aspect of the two day festival. From the selection of beverages to the atmosphere and entertainment, everything was absolutely top-notch.

We thoroughly enjoyed the festive vibe, the camaraderie among fellow beer enthusiasts, and the opportunity to discover new and exciting brews. It was a true celebration of craft and community, and we are already looking forward to next year's festival with eager anticipation.

Once again, thank you to the organisers, volunteers, vendors, and everyone involved in making the Winwick Beer Festival 2024 a fantastic event.

Your efforts are truly appreciated, and we raise a glass to your continued success!

Here's to many more years of great beer, good company, and unforgettable memories at the Winwick Beer Festival.

Cheers and see you next year!

Join us on our stall at this year’s Carnival to learn more about the bloody 1648 Battle Of Winwick which took place not far from this site.

It’s our aim to protect, promote, preserve and enhance the area where this very important battle took place on August 16, 1648.

It’s our aspiration to have a battlefield monument erected which would act as a focal point for visitors to the site.

Come over and learn what we do, how we do research , how we encourage & promote battlefield archaeology ... and maybe even join us??
