Wild at Heart Preschool

Discover STEM, gain confidence in nature and explore art during this program for preschoolers! This class promotes self-discovery and foundational learning building blocks through story time, art, experiments and interactive outdoor and indoor activities. This is a child-without-parent class. Children must be potty-trained. Each month features a different exciting theme!

Lil’ Explorers

Explore STEAM, nature and history with your preschooler in this child-with-adult class (grandparents, parents and other caregivers welcome). Your preschooler will gain confidence while you engage together with curiosity and imagination in hands-on activities.

Create Your Own Will

Create your will and estate planning documents in one easy class! Licensed attorney Steven M. Dye will help you complete a Last Will and Testament, Financial and Medical Power of Attorney, Living Will, and Organ Donation Request. The fee includes all materials, witnessing, notary, review, and time for questions and discussion. Participants must show a driver’s license or other photo ID. Couples must register individually.

Safe Sitter Essentials

This is a comprehensive, physician-developed babysitting course that will teach safety skills, First Aid and rescue skills, care of a choking infant & child, infant & child CPR, life, and business skillsincluding babysitting as a business & success on the job, childcare essentials and more! It’s designed to equip students to feel confident and be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings or babysitting. Curriculum is geared for students in grades 6th - 8th. Students receive a certification card from Safe Sitter, Inc. Please bring sack lunch.

This class is taught by American Heart Association-certified instructors and provides students with an understanding of first aid basics, medical emergencies, injury emergencies and environmental emergencies. Upon completion, participants will receive a First Aid certification card that is valid for two years.

No School Challenge Days

Have a day off from school but don’t want to sit around at home? Join us on these no-school days for a variety of Challenge Island’s most-popular STEAM challenges, such as Rollercoaster Ridge, Egg Drop Cliff, Monster Slime, and Blow Cart Beach.

Age: 5 – 11

Location: CRC, Buckeye/Redwood Room

This class is taught by American Heart Association-certified instructors. The class covers adult, child, and infant CPR; AED hands-on practice; and choking rescue for adult, child, and infant. This class is open to anyone in the community (not healthcare providers). Upon completion, participants will receive a CPR / AED certification card that is valid for two years.

Challenge Island Kids’ Night Out - Amazing Americas Slime Night

Kids will ooze with excitement as they journey from Columbia in South America to the US and Canada in North America. Working with their STEAM team partners, they’ll create two ooey, gooey slimes and face our exciting Monster Truck STEM challenge!

Challenge Island Kids’ Night Out - Monsters & Myths Night

Prepare to encounter legendary creatures and things that go bump in the night. During this kid-friendly STEM-challenge night, you and a STEAM Team of friends will take on engineering challenges that explore the legends of Bigfoot to Godzilla. A night so fun, it will give you goosebumps.

Challenge Island Kids’ Night Out - Time Machine Night

Set your clocks to go back in time! You and your STEAM Team of friends will test your STEAM savvy as you engineer a time machine to journey back in time to take on challenges in places such as the Mayflower Harbor and a 1970’s Pinball Arcade. This incredible island is sure to be one for the history books!

Challenge Island Kids’ Night Out - Winter Wonderland Night

Glide on over to the coolest night in town where you’ll take a STEAMtastic journey through Challenge Island’s Winter Wonderland! Your icy adventure will include designing and decking out your very own ice palace (where you and your STEAM Team can chillax) and using cool science to make frosty slime and frozen treats! This cool-as-ice night is a not-to-be missed adventure for every frostbitten fan!

Becks Taekwondo

313524-01 and fun! Current Taekwondo and Karate ranks are recognized! By earning progressive belt ranks through routine training, students find a sense of accomplishment as they build selfesteem and strength. The Becks are 5th Degree Black Belts and with decades of experience, are veterans of the art!

Note: Uniform & belt one-time fee is $25. Belt promotion is encouraged but optional.

Taekwondo is a martial art focused on integrity and individual achievement. Much like Karate, it is strongly based in selfdefense as well as the study of traditional forms, striking, and kicking, all presented in a well-organized curriculum. Preschool Open Gym

Play with your child on gym mats, toss beanbags, play catch and more. This is a drop-in program, no registration necessary. An adult must accompany every child or family of children. A ratio of at least one adult for every three children is required. Parent participation throughout the program is required.

Fencing

This class focuses on the fundamental rules and skills of modern Olympic fencing. Students learn skills such as basic footwork and bladework with the foil, epee and saber, as well as the basic rules of play and safety requirements of the sport. Coach-led instruction is in groups as well as working with a partner. There is time for fencing bouts with each other in each class. Please wear clothing you can exercise comfortably in, including athletic shoes and long, loose pants. Bring your own equipment or equipment may be rented on a first come-first serve basis for $10 per month. Drop-ins are welcome (if space allows) at $13 per class or monthly registrations (recommended) for a discounted rate. Gear purchase for Intermediate and Adult classes is recommended.
