 MCDOWELL HALL AT

McDowell Hall at St. John’s College, located between King George Street and College Avenue, recently underwent major improvements. The five-floor building received a new HVAC unit, accessible restrooms, an elevator that connects the basement to the first floor, entrance vestibules, reclaimed heart pine flooring on the first level, acoustical surfaces in seminar rooms, and new interior finishes. These upgrades will allow McDowell Hall to host seminars, concerts, social engagements, academic ceremonies, and other community events. The renovations cost $3.5 million, and was made possible by a grant from the Maryland Independent College and University Association (MICUA). 38 What’s Up? Annapolis | July 2019 | whatsupmag.com
