This iconic road trip through Montana promises a blend of adventure and tranquility, making it a must-visit for any travel enthusiast. My husband introduced me to this majestic road trip in the 1980s. We have since roadtripped over the Beartooth several times. The experience is always awe-inspiring and sometimes nail-biting. The entire trip is about 120 miles. It can be done in several hours if you drive straight through. two or three days crossing over the ragged pinnacle known as the Beartooth. This highway is usually open from Memorial Day to mid-October. Check the weather forecast and road conditions before setting out, as they can change rapidly in the mountains, even during summer. During one of our visits, we woke up to four inches of snow in June.
