2.4 INSTALL: Weathergroove
2.4.1 FRAME PREPARATION
Frames must be straight and true. Studs may be at a maximum 600mm centres - see product specific structural wind loading for system details. Internal corners may require additional stud work - refer to Weathertex Weathergroove Horizontal Cavity Fix Construction Details.

2.4.2 WALL SARKING INSTALLATION
• Sarking must be installed in accordance with AS 4200.2, the manufacturer’s installation instructions and Construction Details.
• Sarking must be installed in between the frame and cavity battens.
2.4.3 WINDOWS AND PENETRATIONS
All windows and penetrations must be appropriately flashed in accordance with NCC before horizontal battens & cladding are installed. Head flashings are required to be installed to ensure any water is draining away from the window and is not draining into the wall. Head flashings will change based on the selected window, the use of a cavity etc. Window head flashing must be used see Weathertex Weathergroove Horizontal Cavity Fix Construction Details available on the Weathertex website for further details.

2.4.4 HORIZONTAL BATTENS
A structural engineer must be consulted on how to fix the horizontal battens to the frame for the specific wind load and dead load for the project.
The horizontal batten method covered in this manual is 70x35mm MGP10 minimum Timber Batten + 10mm or 18mm Cavibat batten. The depth of the batten can be increased if required.

2.4.5 VERTICAL BATTENS
Vertical battens need to be installed at the corners, windows and penetrations. Vertical battens must match the depth of the chosen horizontal battens.
