Horse And Staff Travel

The Dubai Racing Club (DRC) will meet the cost of return transport for each horse to and from its country of residence based on 1/3 share (see previous page), providing the horse runs twice at Meydan during the 2022 Dubai World Cup Carnival. For countries from where direct travel is not available to the UAE due to quarantine protocols, a travel subsidy will be provided to assist with shipment costs for horses. If the horse is sold either privately or at public auction in the UAE, the return portion of the transport subsidy is forfeited.

DRC will subsidise Stable Staff economy flights to and from Dubai based on the below (conditions apply):

1 - 2 horses 1 person

3 - 4 horses 2 people

5 - 7 horses 3 people

8 - 10 horses 4 people

DRC will not be responsible for extra flights due to change of staff during the Carnival or fees relating to any last-minute changes.

Trainer flights will be subsidised by DRC (conditions apply). Each Trainer will be able to receive 2 return business class tickets to use during the Carnival. Up to 3 nights’ accommodation will also be subsidised at a DRC associated hotel.

Owner (1 representative) of DWCC horses will be able to receive one business class return ticket to Dubai on behalf of DRC. Accommodation is at their own expense; however, DRC will be able to provide discounted rates at the Club’s associated hotels.

The Quarantine Stables

These facilities are located adjacent to Meydan Racecourse, and approximately 25 minutes’ drive from Dubai International Airport. International Quarantine is primarily used for UK and EU horses. In the event of overflow, UK and EU horses will be accommodated in alternative quarantine facilities. Horses from other countries will be accommodated in Dubai World Cup Quarantine situated alongside International Quarantine. Apart from stabling horses in modern facilities, the quarantine stables also provide stable staff with on-site accommodation. Included in the staff accommodation is a recreation room and swimming pool. The accommodation is conveniently located to explore Dubai. Overflow of Stable Staff will be accommodated at the DRC associated hotel with transportation to and from Quarantine Stables. In the DRC quarantine stables there will be no cost related to 1. Provision of boxes 2. Limited on-site accommodation (on a shared basis allocated to the number of horses) The following accommodation will be made for stable staff: 1 - 2 horses 1 person 3 - 4 horses 2 people 5 - 7 horses 3 people 8 - 10 horses 4 people 3. DRC quarantine stables security staff 4. Use of any Meydan training facility 5. Use of shared administration office

Accommodation Deposit

AED 1000 security deposit will be required for damages. The full amount will be refunded upon the departure of the staff member if apartment/ room has not sustained any damage. Grooms will be supplied and may be utilized by any trainer in the barn. All other horse related costs such as veterinary, feed and farrier etc are to be met by the owner/s. AED 100 + 5% VAT equalling AED 105 (approx. US$30) for hay and bedding will be charged per day per horse. PLEASE NOTE: The DRC grooms are there to assist visiting staff only and will NOT be held responsible for the care of the horses. The horses are always the responsibility of the trainers’ staff and DRC staff will not be held responsible for the horse/s in the absence of trainer or his/her employees. Except for those that are required to enter Pre-Export Quarantine, subsidies will end seven (7) days after the horse’s final run at Meydan Racecourse. PLEASE NOTE: All requests pertaining to accommodation and/or the facilities should be directed to the appropriate quarantine facility manager (please find details in Contact Directory) For those horses remaining in the Quarantine Stables, AED 2,000 (+5% VAT) per month or AED 70 (+5% VAT) box rental will be charged.

All shipping arrangements will be co-ordinated through Dubai Racing Club Appointed Shipping Agents.

The Dubai Racing Club (DRC) will offer, through their appointed agents, shipping of horses to and from Dubai after 18th December 2021 for the 2022 Dubai World Cup Carnival (DWCC). The DRC will cover the cost of return air freight for each horse accepted into the Dubai World Cup Carnival, based on three horses per pallet on existing scheduled service cargo routes, from their country of origin, or nearest country/airport with scheduled service cargo routes to/from Dubai and return to the same point, together with affiliated charges for UAE Import/Export. For UK/EU origin horses, the use of appointed operated charter flights will be optimized and wherever possible will be used in preference to scheduled line flights. Should owners wish to make alternative arrangements relating to the return of their horses, they will be responsible for all charges applicable to this change, however Appointed Shipping Agents will be able to advise. Unless sold, all DWCC horses must leave Dubai as soon as transport arrangements have been made. Owners wishing to leave their horses in Dubai after the 2022 Dubai World Cup Carnival must gain approval from the DRC. Horses that remain in Dubai 30 days AFTER the 2022 Dubai World Cup meeting will forfeit their return transport subsidies. Unless, in the case of UK horses, they immediately enter the official 30-day UK return quarantine facility following the Dubai World Cup Meeting. EU return conditions are subject to change. The cost of road transport from Dubai International Airport to the DRC Quarantine Stables and the return route will be covered by the DRC. Where charter costs are involved, reimbursement will be at the discretion of the DRC and Appointed Shipping Agents **All GCC horses, whether transported by road or air, will now be coordinated through DRC and Janah Management. No allowance will be issued. ** Any international horse subsequently INVITED to run at the Dubai World Cup Meeting on 26th March 2022, which is already resident in Dubai, will be eligible for further benefits as per the Dubai World Cup policy.
