A Note to the Reader Although this story is ficticious, it is inspired by true events and is based on the experiences of Dr. Frank Sulloway.

You will notice two versions of this story: an easier read, which starts from the front cover and a more challenging read, which begins from the back cover. This book is written strategically and comprehensibly to help learners easily pick up the language while enjoying a compelling and informative read.
SA
The comprehensive glossary lists all words and phrases that are used in the book. In addition, more advanced and complex structures are footnoted at the bottom of the page where each occurs. When I read Dr. Frank Sulloway’s story in an article from Smithsonian magazine, I was captivated. He spent 51 hours on the lava of Santiago Island in the Galápagos in the year 2000 and my story is modeled after his. I am grateful that he allowed me to pick his brain and to develop my characters based on his experiences.
M PL
Honest feedback builds a good story and I appreciate Nelly Hughes, Cynthia Hitz, Kristy Placido, and Martina Bex for looking at the storyline and helping me drive it in the right direction. Victor Riera, thank you for being my go-to for Ecuador and Galápagos questions and photos.
SA
Thank you Carol and Pat for believing in my work and Jim, Aly, and Nick for putting up with the creative process.

– ¿Sonia?

A Note to the Reader Although this story is ficticious, it is inspired by true events and is based on the experiences of Dr. Frank Sulloway.

E
You will notice two versions of this story: an easier read, which starts from the front cover and a more challenging read, which begins from the back cover. This book is written strategically and comprehensibly to help learners easily pick up the language while enjoying a compelling and informative read.
