Upgrades on the exterior included new stone, paint, front door and concrete front steps that “we widened to present a more welcoming feel.” “The kitchen is uniquely different because we took aspects of the most trendy designs such as white cabinets and grey tones and added 1900s curio-style moulding, tin to the fireplace and blown-glass pendant lights above the quartzite-topped island to create a very unique look,” Shannon notes. “We also added distinctive details such as doing a custom glazing on glass fronts of the upper cabinets to mimic the pattern on the tin; the kitchen is definitely above the average.” A designer by trade, Shannon also added eye-catching orange accent pieces and there are even bits of orange in the floor tile, for a splash of colour and to tie in the cozy, [20] LUXURY LIVING FALL 2015
