Drew Petersen, 2017 APA Winner “In addition to winning the American Pianists Award in 2017, I learned about Raleigh. It was my ‘bonus prize’ that year, and now I visit the store every time I’m in Indianapolis. During the awards competition process, I stayed with a family, and my host, Janet Nine, introduced me to Raleigh. I’m originally from northern New Jersey, about 30 minutes from NYC, and there are a ton of places to shop—but sometimes I’ll feel overwhelmed by the options. That’s never the case at Raleigh. The store is intimate enough that the associates know you by name, but large enough that it can acquire an enormous selection of apparel. The items are versatile as well—I have a luxurious cashmere T-shirt that I can wear when I have to run from an airplane to an important meeting. And I can get an item tailored right in the store and have it ready before I head back to the East Coast! Right now, my favorite piece is a black velvet blazer with heavy-duty buttons that I wear on stage. I actually first saw the style in the store, and then it started appearing everywhere else. In terms of the latest trends, Raleigh is always ahead of the game.”
