While the restaurant was founded by John Ballato, it is now owned by Emilio Vitolo, a former carpenter and successful Hollywood actor and his father, Emilio Vitolo Sr. In addition, Emilio has made the eatery a true family affair. His brother Antonio is the chef, and his father (who previously owned the restaurant), mother and brother Mario are often greeting customers, helping out or just adding their own personality to the surroundings. “All the recipes come from my father, who actually got his recipes from my grandmother,” said Emilio. “My dad came over from Italy as a child with his mother, and this is the food she used to make. It’s truly as authentic as it gets!”
