Heading into 2021 with a bang, April & Alex recently debuted its ‘Audax’ collection, taking inspiration from the Latin word for “bold.” Focusing on clothing that makes women feel empowered, the brand has a strong female identity at its core. When asked about her muses for the collection, Didi named Meghan Markle, Chimamanda Adichie, Audrey Lorde, Maya Angelou, Beyoncé and Michelle Obama. Speaking of these iconic women, she

said “These are the women that inspire us to create out there, in your face fashion pieces.”

With feminine shapes that cater to working women that don’t see the need to dim their glow in business hours, the clothes emphasise the boldness of the wearer. Their latest presentation took inspiration from the woman who pushes beyond limits, serving looks that combined off-the-shoulder silhouettes, exaggerated sleeves and ruffled details.
