WELCOME TO MOUNT ISA FROM GLENCORE METALS
AUSTRALIA CHIEF
OPERATING OFFICER
On behalf of everyone at Glencore Mount Isa Mines, it’s my pleasure to welcome you to the 2026 Mount Isa Mines Rodeo, the largest and most iconic event of its kind in our region.
As proud foundation partners, we are honoured to stand with the Rodeo Board in supporting a tradition that has captivated generations.
Mount Isa Mines is committed to initiatives that strengthen the communities we call home, and that commitment is reflected in our significant annual contribution to Queensland — through jobs, local procurement and direct investment in community programs.
This iconic event owes its success to our community, the dedication of volunteers, the skill and courage of competitors, and the enthusiasm of visitors from across Australia and beyond. Your support sustains the rodeo and showcases Mount Isa to the world.
We’re proud to help bring people together and to celebrate the spirit and resilience of North West Queensland. Enjoy the action, soak up the atmosphere, and join us in making the 2026 Mount Isa Mines Rodeo truly unforgettable.
Troy Wilson Chief Operating Officer
– Glencore Metals Australia

MESSAGE FROM THE MINISTER FOR THE ENVIRONMENT AND TOURISM AND MINISTER FOR SCIENCE AND INNOVATION, THE HONOURABLE ANDREW POWELL MP
It is my absolute pleasure to welcome you all to the 2026 Mount Isa Mines Rodeo. We are so glad to have you with us.
The Queensland Government is proud to support the 2026 Mount Isa Mines Rodeo through Tourism and Event’s Queensland Major Events funding program, as we recognise the important role events play in delivering lasting benefits to communities across the state.
The Mount Isa Rodeo will deliver a uniquely Queensland experience and contributes to Queensland’s $1.3 billion-dollar 2026 events calendar.
Queensland’s growing calendar of events plays a vital role in driving visitation and showcasing the very best of what our state has to offer.
If you are visiting for the Rodeo, I encourage you to take the opportunity to explore North West Queensland and discover the unique experiences that make this part of Queensland such a special place to visit.
Andrew
Minister
Powell MP
for the Environment and Tourism and Minister for Science and Innovation

Welcome to the 2026 Mount Isa Mines Rodeo –and welcome to the best side of Queensland.
If this is your first time here, you’re in for something special. If you’re returning, you already know what I’m talking about.
Mount Isa is more than just a mining town. We’re a community built on resilience, opportunity, and a deep connection to this rugged landscape. Our rich Kalkadoon culture, our pioneering spirit, and our fierce pride in what we’ve built here – that’s what makes the Isa the Isa.
And our Rodeo? It’s the biggest and best in Australia, hands down. This is where rodeo royalty comes to compete, where champions are made, and where the entire North West comes together for one incredible week.
This year’s event is shaping up to be our best yet. From the action in the arena to the Isa Street Festival and the legendary Mailman Express, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re here for the competition, the entertainment, or just the vibe – you won’t be disappointed.
Council is proud to support this iconic event. It’s not just about the rodeo itself –it’s about what it represents. Community. Connection. Celebration.
So make the most of your time here. Explore our region. Support our local businesses. Soak up the atmosphere. And when you head home, tell people what you experienced. Because Mount Isa has a story worth sharing.
We hope to see you back in 2027.
Peta MacRae Mayor of Mount Isa

MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRPERSON OF MOUNT ISA PRO RODEO LTD MARK THOMPSON
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2026 Mount Isa Rodeo; Australia’s richest, largest and most iconic rodeo, right here in the heart of Outback Queensland.
The Mount Isa Rodeo is far more than just a sporting event. It is a celebration of our western heritage, our resilient communities, and the people who make the Australian bush such a special place. Each year we are proud to welcome the nation’s best competitors, dedicated rodeo fans, visitors from across the country, and families who return year after year to be part of this incredible tradition.
As a board, we have spent the past year building on the strong foundations of this iconic event that were laid in 2025; while continuing to look towards its future. We remain committed to preserving everything that makes the Mount Isa Rodeo so unique, while embracing opportunities to grow, improve, and ensure it continues to thrive for generations to come.
An event of this scale simply would not be possible without the support of so many people. To our valued sponsors and event partners, thank you for your continued

investment in the Mount Isa Rodeo. Your support allows us to showcase the very best of Australian rodeo while delivering an unforgettable experience for competitors, spectators and the wider community.
To our volunteers, staff, contractors, judges, officials and everyone working tirelessly behind the scenes, thank you. Your commitment, professionalism and countless hours of hard work are the driving force behind this event, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do.
Finally, thank you to every competitor and every person who has come through the gates this weekend. Whether you’re here for the world-class rodeo action, the entertainment, the atmosphere, or simply to experience one of Australia’s greatest bucketlist events, we hope you enjoy everything the 2026 Mount Isa Rodeo has to offer. On behalf of the Board of Mount Isa Pro Rodeo Ltd, thank you for being part of this remarkable event. We hope you create memories that will last a lifetime, and we look forward to welcoming you back again next year. Enjoy the rodeo.
