Community News The Lithgow Valley Film Society The Lithgow Valley Film Society will be screening a recent release movie this week titled

‘THE SEAGULL’- 2018- M. Official Selection 2018 Tribeca Film Festival. Official Selection Sydney Film Festival. Based on the play by Anton Chekhov and starring Annette Bening, Saoirse Ronan and Cory Stoll. One summer at a lakeside Russian estate, friends and family gather for a weekend in the countryside. While everyone is caught up in passionately loving someone who loves somebody else, a tragic comedy unfolds about art, fame, human folly, and the eternal desire to live a purposeful life. Adapted by Tony Award winning playwright Stephen Karam, from Anton Chekhov’s classic play. A film with fine riveting performances.

The Social Justice Group invites you to come and share to a two course evening meal followed by our 2 guest speakers from the BLUE MOUNTAINS REFUGEE SUPPORT GROUP Speakers: Chairperson-Joy Connor Deputy Chair-Kathie Herbert The group is a diverse group of ordinary Australians from all walks of life and the organisation has no specific religious affiliations. They work to bring comfort, friendship and hope though visiting people in detention. Referrals for Legal Assistance, help with employment and further training, practical assistance with household items, education and medical expenses etc. They will speak about the current International Situation for Refugees as well as the Australian situation.
