VAN EATON GALLERIES PRESENTS

Welcome to our first Disney Parks auction of 2021. It has certainly been an unusual 12 months for all of us here at our Gallery, as I’m sure it has also been for you as well. As we enter 2021, we have a lot to be thankful for and a lot to look forward to. Disneyland has been closed for almost a full year, and as it starts to reopen, we thought it was the perfect time to look back at the history of the Disney Parks through the artifacts and the people that have helped make them such a cherished part of our lives. This auction is a wonderful mixture of the history of the Disney Studio, the Disney Parks, and Walt Disney himself. This collection would not have been possible without the dedicated Disney enthusiasts that have brought in these treasured park relics for us to enjoy anew. I want to give special thanks to a few of these amazing people that have contributed to this catalog: My thanks begin with the family of Marian Guiver. Marian was an avid Disneyana and Disney Park collector and enthusiast. She became one of the founding members, and the first President, of The National Fantasy Fan Club (NFFC) when it formed in 1984. Her love of all things Disney is evident in her outstanding collection of artifacts and memorabilia. I cannot thank her family enough for allowing us to share her collection. Randy Bell began working at Club 33 in 1977. He met his future wife, Brenda Wall, there in 1978, and together, they raised three wonderful children. A fixture at the club, both Randy and Brenda had a love and passion for the park that was evident in the dedication and affection they shared with the thousands of guests they encountered throughout their over 40-year careers. Sadly, Randy passed away in 2019, and Brenda has retired to spend time with her grandchildren. We are so honored to be able to share some of the amazing artifacts and memorabilia that they have amassed throughout their time at the park. And finally, a special thank you to mega-collector Ron Clark. Ron has supplied us with some of the most historically important and meaningful pieces that we have had in our past auctions, and for this auction he has come through again with an amazing mosaic that was once part of Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland. Thank you, Ron, for entrusting your treasures to us. Lastly, I want to thank you, the reader, for taking time to learn about these wonderful collectors who have helped preserve the history of the Disney Parks, and to read about these park relics that date from Disneyland’s opening year in 1955 to more modern times. I hope you enjoy this catalog as much as we have enjoyed making it, and I hope to see you all in person one day in the near future. -Mike Van Eaton
