You can also print an Application for Admission form or pick one up at a Vancouver Island secondary school or at any VIU campus. VIU starts taking applications on October 2 for most programs, and some programs accept applications on a continual basis.

Gather together all the necessary documentation This could include official transcripts from your secondary school. If you are currently attending a BC secondary school, letting us know your Personal Education Number (PEN) will assist us to obtain your final grades; some programs will require that you submit an interim transcript separately. You should also submit transcripts from any other post-secondary institutions you have attended and you may be required to write an assessment test, submit a personal profile, a rĂŠsumĂŠ or a letter of intent. All necessary documents must be received by application deadline.
Submit your application and supporting documents Submit the completed application form online or mail a printed copy to the address below. A non-refundable application fee of $38.55 is required. You are advised to apply as early as possible because your date of application may determine your registration date. Applications and documents become the property of VIU and are not returned, whether a student is accepted or not.

After you have applied for admission... You will receive a letter acknowledging receipt of your application. Once we have processed your application and you have been accepted, you will be asked to pay a tuition deposit and we will send you instructions on how to register for classes.
