United Way of the Coastal Empire has been improving lives in Bryan County for over 30 years. We partner with local nonprofits and other community collaboratives to provide critical Safety Net programs, services, and pathways for Upward Mobility to help everyone thrive.

BRYAN COUNTY HOUSING FUND
u Through a generous donation from a Bryan County resident, over $23,000 in funds were used to assist 22 households in Bryan County with housing needs.
OUR WORK
THROUGH COMMUNITY FUND PROGRAMS
4,399 Bryan County residents were assisted by United Way of the Coastal Empire funded nonprofits in FY 2023.24. In addition, we supported over 320 residents by providing information, resources, and direct services at our Bryan County Service Centers. Below are some of the ways we made an impact in Bryan County.
SAFETY NET
u $48,545 saved in prescription costs
u 348 senior citizens received in-home support
u 405 people without insurance or who were underinsured received essential services
u 1,379 Bryan County residents received free or low-cost food
u 73 counseling sessions provided to children and families impacted by child abuse
UPWARD MOBILITY
u 294 young people received leadership training
u 4,058 preschool through second-grade Bryan County Public School students received new, grade-level books to increase early childhood literacy as part of our Read United initiative.
u 700 individuals screened for hearing or speech impairments
u 135 complimentary tax returns completed
