Connie Washington | Vice President of People & Diversity, Equity and Inclusion – Progressive Leasing
Connie is native to Utah, where she grew up and attended West High School and later attended Weber State University on a Track and Field scholarship. After raising her four children with her husband, she was drawn to the human resources field, where she has spent the last 25 years. She has worked for multiple organizations in Pennsylvania and here in Utah. Connie holds a Master’s Degree in Management and Leadership and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. She also holds Senior HR certifications through SHRM and HRCI.

Jenn has not only built successful businesses but she’s also the recipient of many local and industry specific recognitions such as the Salt Lake Board of Realtors Good Neighbor Award, Salt Lake Board of Realtors Top 500 Agents Award, Utah Business “30 Women to Watch” Award, and more. Jenn has industry specific education in divorce, seniors, estate sales and commercial real estate, as well as entrepreneur education through the University of Utah and Goldman Sachs. All of her awards and education have been achieved in her 40s, proving that we’re never too old to accomplish what we set our minds to.
Melanie Jones | Editor-in-Chief – Utah Business
Melanie Jones spent over 25 years of her career at a local manufacturer where she frequently accepted new responsibilities or volunteered to take on new challenges. However, her true passion was found when she volunteered as a curator and speaking coach for TEDxSaltLakeCity for five seasons, where she enjoyed showcasing Utah talent, ideas, and innovation. Now, Melanie combines her business experience, passion for platforming excellence, love of storytelling and knack for building community into her role as editor-in-chief of Utah Business magazine.
