About the Author Raquel Leonardo is an experienced urban designer, town planner and Chartered landscape architect, with expertise in planning, regeneration and project management as well as a portfolio in masterplanning and detailed design. Raquel started her professional practice by working in small private design studios in Berlin, Lisbon and Dublin. This was followed by a role with a Scottish public regeneration company designing and delivering projects on the ground alongside local communities, combined with the design of two Building Schools for the Future projects in London (ECDA). Since 2011 she’s been working in the public sector as a project manager and consultee to the planning process. She is a member of the North Devon and Somerset Design Review Panel, the founder and chair of a design working group for urban designers in Local Authorities based in the west and south west and she sits on the CPRE Avonside’s Board of Trustees.
