coastline, bluffs and all, the Sea Ranch Lodge completed an extensive restoration project last year, debuting 17 intimate rooms created by awardwinning San Francisco-based design collective NICOLEHOLLIS. Nestled between sprawling meadows and Douglas fir forests, the property’s nature-focused accommodations embody an elevated simplicity rivaled only by amazing views. “The guest experience we strive for is inspired by ‘living lightly on the land’ — a concept from the original designers and architects, which starts with respect for nature,” says the Sea Ranch Lodge general manager, Kristina Jetton. Featuring carefully curated interiors and lighting design, the reimagined rooms offer a striking yet cozy contrast to the wooden structure and other
natural materials. “The guest rooms were updated to today's standards while remaining in harmony with the original architecture and natural landscape,” says interior designer, Nicole Hollis. “The guest rooms are a warm refuge from the wild coastal winds and crashing waves.” In addition, the destination also encompasses a collection of spaces sustainably restored in 2021. Architectural firm Mithun, landscape design studio TERREMOTO, and interior design firm The Office of Charles de Lisle, helped breathe new life into the property. “A visit to Sea Ranch is whatever you want to make of it,” Jetton says. No matter how one spends their time at the historic destination, it’s sure to be uniquely inspiring.
