ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

The IEO wishes to acknowledge the many people at UNDP and among its partners working on mine action across the globe who provided information, commented on report drafts and provided logistical support to the case study teams. Particular thanks goes to the UNDP headquarters management and staff overseeing the mine action programme: Stan Nkwain, Owen Shumba and Nathalie Prevost; and to the management and staff of the UNDP country offices in Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Mozambique and Tajikistan. We are grateful for the external review and critique of the evaluation provided by Ray Rist, Ted Paterson and Ian Mansfield. Quality enhancement and administrative support from IEO staff were critical to the completion of the evaluation. Chandi Kadirgamar peer-reviewed the draft report. Sonam Choetsho, Concepcion Cole, Flora Jimenez, Antana Locs and Michelle Sy provided logistical and administrative support. Sasha Jahic managed the production of the report.
