end of the Viva Voce or by calling the student back after the examiners have adjourned for a brief discussion. Normally, students should be told on the same day or at least on the next day by the Director of Studies. It is possible for students to appeal the outcome of a Viva Voce examination. For further details on the grounds on which an appeal can be made, please refer to section A13: Complaints, Grievances and Appeals. 6. Required Amendments following First Examination Should the approved outcome of the examination be minor amendments, resubmission or the award of MPhil subject to amendments to the thesis, the RMA Student Section will write to the student with a deadline by which the amended thesis must be re-submitted and will enclose the Examiners’ Joint Report form and the details of the required amendments. Within that deadline, students must complete the amendments and have them checked by their supervisors. A ‘Thesis Submission Form – Resubmission’ form should be completed and submitted to the RMA Student Section along with the amended thesis and a separate list of the amendments. Please note that students must not attempt to contact examiners from the point they submit their thesis until it is fully approved. Both student and supervisors should then forward the revised thesis to the RMA Student Section, who will then formally write to the examiner(s) to outline their duties. The normal expectation is that the examiners review the revisions within a month of receipt of the letter and thesis. The examiner(s) must write to the RMA Student Section indicating whether the amendments have been carried out to their satisfaction. 7. Procedures for the Award of the Degree Once the thesis has been completed to the examiners’ satisfaction the student will be asked to submit to the RMA Student Section:

- One hard copy of the thesis, bound as per University of the Arts London regulation (please refer to the ‘Final Bound Thesis’ section below) and one copy of the thesis in electronic format (pdf).
