SHOPPING Bloomingdale is home to the shopping enthusiast. Here you’ll find small, cozy boutiques, big-box retailers and Stratford Square Mall, a two-level, regional shopping center located on the west side of Bloomingdale and anchored by Macy’s, Carson Pirie Scott, Sears, Kohl’s, Burlington Coat Factory and the 16-screen Century Theatre. Destination shopping is fashion forward in Bloomingdale. From national chain stores and popular shops, the route along Bloomingdale’s Army Trail corridor brings shoppers to the busy Bloomingdale Court and Bloomingdale Square Shopping Centers. Lake Street, flanked by Walgreens and Ace Hardware at Springfield Drive, is the northwestern gateway to Bloomingdale. Farther east is the renown Platt Hill Nursery. East of Bloomingdale Road, Springbrook Shopping Center, home to Caputo’s Fresh

Market, on the south side, and Circle Center, on the north, also offer several eating establishments and a variety of retail outlets. From the Meijer store on the north side of Schick, to Stratford Crossing on the west side of Gary, Bloomingdale’s Gary Ave. shopping corridor bustles with shopping and dining opportunities. Shoppers are sure to applaud big renovations starting to take shape at Stratford Square Mall. Anticipated entrance renovations and streetscape improvements will include the addition of new retail stores, signage and upgraded finishes. Round One, a Los Angeles- and Japan-based 40,000-squarefoot entertainment complex offering bowling, billiards, gaming and karaoke is the first of the newest offerings to celebrate its grand opening this fall.

EDUCATION Education is a lifelong opportunity in Bloomingdale. Students have access to a variety of educational options throughout their formative years. Elementary-age students attend classes in five school districts: Bloomingdale District 13, Marquardt District 15 in Glendale Heights, Community Consolidated District 93 in Carol Stream, Medinah School District 11 and Keeneyville District 20. High school students attend Glenbard High School District 87 schools in Lombard and Carol Stream, and Lake Park High School

District 108 schools’ two campuses in Roselle. Private and parochial schools serving Bloomingdale residents include St. Isidore in Bloomingdale, St. Matthew in Glendale Heights and St. Walter in Roselle,Trinity Lutheran School in Roselle, Medinah Christian School in Medinah and St. Francis High School in Wheaton. Among the universities and colleges located nearby is the College of DuPage, the largest single-campus community college in the country, offering degree programs and certificates, specialized business training, continuing education classes, and degree programs that transfer to universities offering baccalaureate programs as well. A regional center in Carol Stream offers a variety of general education classes as well as placement testing and registration assistance.
