ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS CHECKLIST

Apply for free.

Go to tridenttech.edu and click on the Get Started tab for general information about the application process. When you are ready, select Apply Now (or visit bit.ly/ TTCapplynow) to access the TTC application.

If this is your first visit to the Apply Now site, you will need to create an account before applying. Use your email and password to return to Apply Now to check the status of your application and upload supplemental documentation.

Placement in classes is based on demonstrated math and English ability. Submit one of the following to the Admissions office:

• Final, official high school transcript with a weighted GPA of 3.0 from within the last five years

• High school transcript or diploma showing graduation (English placement only)

• Qualifying SAT (530 Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, 600 Math)

• Qualifying ACT (19 English; 22 Math)

• Official transcripts from another college showing college-level math and/or English completion

• TTC placement test scores (Call 843.574.6410 for an appointment.)

• Other options (Contact your success coach or academic advisor to arrange alternative placement methods if you do not have any of these.)

Review and submit any remaining admission items listed on your Apply Now account.

DUAL ENROLLMENT ADMISSION CHECKLIST

Qualified high school or adult education students who wish to participate in a Dual Enrollment program must:

Have permission from parent/guardian (if under 18 years of age) and high school/home school association or adult education center to enroll.

Show proof of academic readiness.

Schedule an appointment for ACCUPLACER testing with Testing Services at TTC or your high school/adult education center.

Qualifying SAT or ACT scores or unofficial high school transcript can be used in place of ACCUPLACER.

Apply for free.

Create an account on our Apply Now website (bit.ly/TTCapplynow) to complete the online application, selecting “HS Student Taking Coll Courses” as your student type. Choose Dual Credit, Early Admit, or Adult EducationDual Enrollment as your academic program.

You can return to Apply Now at any time to check the status of your application and upload supplemental documentation.

Review the Student Information and Responsibilities sheet.

Make sure you (and parent/guardian if under 18) understand all policies and procedures that are involved with the Dual Enrollment program, including all financial obligations for courses.

Obtain required signatures for signature page.

The signature page must be signed by the student, parent/guardian (if under 18), and high school/home school association or adult education center.

Register for classes.

Registration for students taking courses on the high school campus will be handled by the student’s high school.

Upload your signature page, qualifying test scores/transcript, and any remaining admission items listed on your Apply Now account under Supplemental Items.

Registration for students taking courses online or at a TTC campus must be requested by the student.

Submit an online Dual Enrollment Add/Drop Request form (tridenttechcentral.etrieve.cloud/#/form/206) to request registration for desired classes.

Purchase books online at bookstore.tridenttech.edu or see your school counselor for assistance.

Attend class.

Ensure payment of applicable tuition and fees by the end of enrolled semester.

AFTER DUAL CREDIT – NEXT STEPS

Dual Credit students who graduate from high school will have their Dual Credit program status closed at TTC. Students are responsible for ensuring that their educational opportunities continue by taking the actions listed below.

If you are continuing your education at Trident Technical College:

Submit the following to the Admissions office:

English and math placement, which will be based on one of the following:

• A final, official high school transcript with a weighted GPA of 3.0 or higher

• Completion of English and/or math classes at Trident Tech as a dual credit student

Do you need to send your TTC transcript to the college you plan to attend in the fall? TTC has partnered with Parchment to provide quick and easy access to your transcript. You can send your TTC transcript electronically to the college(s) of your choice. There is a processing fee for each transcript. Visit bit.ly/TTCtranscript.

Remember to check your my.tridenttech.edu portal account at least twice a week for updates on your status.

ACTIVE-DUTY, DEPENDENTS & VETERANS

Active-duty members must receive approval from an Educational Services Officer (ESO) or counselor within the Military Service prior to enrolling. For additional enrollment information, visit bit.ly/TTCmilitary.

To prevent a delay in educational benefits, please allow time for transcripts to be received and evaluated.

Information will be sent to your personal email about accessing my.tridenttech.edu and your college-issued email account. Apply for financial aid, veterans benefits and active military assistance.

Apply for financial aid at studentaid.gov. Follow instructions on page 13 of this book. Be sure to complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA to start Spring 2026 or Summer 2026.

ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS CHECKLIST

Apply for VA Education Benefits.

For help applying for benefits, contact the VETS Center at 843.574.6882, or go to www.va.gov and search for “Education and Training.”

If you are a visiting/transient student using VA Education Benefits to pay for classes, please have your home school VA rep send a transient letter to TTC Veterans Assistance at veteransassistance@tridenttech.edu.

Fill out TTC VA form online.

• Log into the My Veterans Assistance page on the student portal: bit.ly/ttc_va_portal.

• Under the tab that says “Initial Benefits,” complete steps 2 and 4 according to your VA Education Benefit. At the end of each semester, resubmit the Certification Request form in step 2.

If applicable, apply for MYCAA. Apply online or contact your Family Readiness Center for assistance. You will need to request your ETP from the Registrar’s office at records@tridenttech.edu. Allow at least three business days for the ETP to be completed once you have registered for classes.

Obtain your personalized formal plan for evaluationevaluated degree plan for TA. Print from the my.tridenttech.edu student portal after you register for classes.

Purchase books online at bookstore.tridenttech.edu.

Verify/submit per ESO/MYCAA guidelines. Have the Registrar’s office complete ETP or personalized formal plan for evaluation in enough time to meet deadlines prior to the start date of classes.

Pay tuition and fees by the published deadline. See page 3.

Email MYCAA and Tuition Assistance (TA) documents to TTC’s Business office at BusinessOperations@tridenttech.edu.

Submit VA Certification Request Form to initiate payment process. This must be done for every semester you are registered for classes. Complete and submit the form at bit.ly/MyVetsAssistance.

VISITING/TRANSIENT STUDENTS

Trident Technical College welcomes visiting students from other colleges. You are a visiting student, or transient student, if you are earning a degree from another institution but wish to take courses here at TTC to transfer back to your home institution and you are not interested in completing a degree or certificate program at TTC.

To apply and register as a visiting/transient student:

Meet with your home institution advisor and obtain a transient letter/form, ensuring that classes taken at TTC will transfer back to your program. You are responsible for ensuring that you have met the prerequisites (prior coursework and skills you will need to succeed in a course) before registering for a TTC course.

Apply for TTC admission at www.tridenttech.edu/start/apply/.

Create an account on Apply Now and complete the online application, selecting “Visiting/Transient” as your student type.

Upload/submit required supplemental documentation. For a list, view in your Apply Now account or visit bit.ly/VisitingStudents.

Upload your transient letter from your home institution through your Apply Now account or email it to admissionsdocs@tridenttech.edu.

Activate and read your TTC email regularly.

Go to www.tridenttech.edu and select the TTC Portal link at the top of the page.

• Enter your username (my.tridenttech.edu email address).

• Enter your initial password (Aa######$, where ###### is the last six digits of your Social Security number). You will be asked to reset your password if this is your first time using it.

Find login help at www.tridenttech.edu/student/LoginHelp.htm.

Register for classes.

Register using Navigate (see bit.ly/NavigateRegister).

Check your registration schedule in Navigate to verify that you are enrolled in the correct courses and at the correct times.

Pay tuition and fees by the published deadline. See page 3. As a visiting student, you are not eligible for financial aid.

Monitor your class schedule for potential changes.

Buy books and other required materials before classes begin to be prepared for the first day.

Attend classes. D2L for your class(es) becomes available at least one day before classes begin.

At the completion of your coursework, order and pay for official transcripts so that the grades will be sent to your home institution.

READMIT ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

You are considered a readmit student if you previously applied to TTC, whether you took classes or not.

If you have not been enrolled during the last three semesters, create an account on Apply Now (bit.ly/TTCapplynow) and complete the online application, selecting one of these two choices as your readmission student type:

• Returning to TTC - Never Attended if you applied but never took classes; or

• Returning to TTC - Took Classes if you were enrolled in one or more classes more than three semesters ago.

Once you have completed and submitted your application, we will update your intended term of entry, program of study and any address information in your record. You will be able to view any supplemental items needed and monitor the processing of your readmission application on your Apply Now account.

Students must meet the English/math requirements through previously passed courses at TTC or meet admission testing requirements (www.tridenttech.edu/start/apply/index.htm).

• Test scores must be up to date.

• Evidence of high school graduation is needed (if not provided prior).

FIRST-TIME TRANSFER STUDENTS

You are a first-time transfer student if you have previously taken courses from any other accredited postsecondary institution, and this is your first enrollment at Trident Technical College.

Apply for free.

Go to tridenttech.edu and click on the Get Started tab for general information about the application process. When you are ready, select Apply Now (or visit bit.ly/TTCapplynow) to access the TTC application.

If this is your first visit to the Apply Now site, you will need to create an account before applying. Use your email and password to return to Apply Now to check the status of your application and upload supplemental documentation. Your application must be submitted before providing any additional admission items.

Submit official copies of all high school/college transcripts to the Admissions office, if applicable. Students can email IDs and unofficial documents to admissionsdocs@tridenttech.edu, but please have official high school/college transcript(s) sent to Trident Technical College, AM-M, P.O. Box 118067, Charleston, SC 29423. To prevent a delay with admission to Trident Technical College, please allow time for transcripts to be received and evaluated.

Placement in classes is based on demonstrated math and English ability. Submit one of the following to the Admissions office:

• Final, official high school transcript with a weighted GPA of 3.0 from within the last five years

• High school transcript or diploma showing graduation (English placement only)

• Qualifying SAT (530 Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, 600 Math)

• Qualifying ACT (19 English; 22 Math)

• Official transcripts from another college showing college-level math and/or English completion

• TTC placement test scores (Call 843.574.6410 for an appointment.)

• Other options (Contact your success coach to arrange alternative placement methods if you do not have any of these.)

Review and submit any remaining admission items listed on your Apply Now account. Examples include proof of legal presence in the United States (copy of driver’s license, state-issued ID, etc.), high school diploma, GED or final high school transcript (recommended).

Visit Trident Tech’s student portal at my.tridenttech.edu.

Information will be sent to your personal email about accessing my.tridenttech.edu and your college-issued email account. Trident Tech contacts you using this official college-provided student email to ensure your identity and protect the confidentiality of communication. Check your Trident Tech email account frequently, as college departments will email you important information while you are a student.

You can also use my.tridenttech.edu to see your student records. Go to the Student Self Service link to see your grades, financial aid and any balance due.

Register.

Contact your success coach/advisor to register for classes. Find contact information in the “Resources” section of Navigate. Purchase books online at bookstore.tridenttech.edu.

Pay tuition and fees by the published deadline. See page 3.

Attend class.

If you don’t attend class by participating online or in person, you will be reported as never-attended and removed from your courses for the term. For help accessing online classes, email StudentD2Lhelp@tridenttech.edu or call 843.574.6801.

IMPORTANT FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at studentaid.gov.

Completing the FAFSA is the key to finding out your eligibility for federal and state financial aid, as well as some scholarships. Check www.tridenttech.edu to see if you are eligible for additional tuition funding. No-cost-tuition programs are available! Visit bit.ly/SCWINSatTTC for more information.

IMPORTANT: Include TTC’s school code 004920 on your FAFSA so Trident Technical College will receive your FAFSA.

Remember that you MUST complete the FAFSA every year. Complete and submit your 2025-2026 FAFSA now for Spring 2026 and Summer 2026. Complete and submit the FAFSA by the target date: Nov. 12, 2025, if starting in Spring Semester 2026 or April 1, 2026, if starting in Summer Semester 2026.

After you submit your FAFSA, you will receive a FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS) that summarizes the information you provided. Check it carefully to make sure it is accurate and complete.

The Financial Aid office may need additional information from you, so check your TTC student email and Financial Aid SelfService. Respond promptly to all requests for information. We will sometimes text you a reminder for missing information. Please add your phone number to your TTC profile.
