They are bred Natural Service to a calving ease Finished Product son reg# 4646951. The bull was put in on 11/26/23 and pulled on 1/29/23 for a 60-day calving window. These Fall Sep/Oct born heifers come from a great set of Red Angus cows that are great mothers and are out of Hereford bulls. They have been hand fed and have good dispositions. 4 FANCY Red Angus bred heifers. Vet confirmed by ultrasound safe in calf to Genex sire Merlin 018A. They were synchronized and took on their first A.I attempt. Due September 11th. Vet predicted 3 bull calves. Heifers will be 29 months old when they calve and should weigh in the 1300s by then. They are big, fancy heifers and puppy dog gentle. I have found by having them calve at 29 months of age, they raise better quality calves, almost never miss getting bred back, last longer, and simply make better cows. These are the hard to let go kind. Merlin has crossed well with our heifers before and confident he will again this time. Merlin ranks in the top 1% for milk, 6% for ww, 8% for yw, 16% for bw, according to the 2023 Genex catalog.
