COUNSELLOR IN TRAINING (C.I.T.) Age: 14 to 15 years Location: TBC This is the next step in your leadership training. Participants begin with a full in‑week camp that includes Standard First Aid and CPR C certification, advanced leadership development, behaviour management strategies, training in camp, policies and procedures. The week also features hands-on experiences, such as swim sessions, site visits to other camps, and opportunities to learn about trips and special guest programming. • Following this training week, participants will have the opportunity to complete two placement weeks in a camp setting. YOUTH AGE REQUIREMENTS Participants of the L.I.T. and C.I.T. programs, in addition to the Youth Volunteer program, must be the minimum program age by December 31, 2026. No exceptions will be made.
YOUTH VOLUNTEER PILOT PROGRAM Age: 14 to 16 years Location: TBC Youth Volunteer Pilot Program, previously the Counsellor In Training Program. This program is for volunteers who have previously volunteered with the Town of Aurora, in either the L.I.T. or C.I.T. program. • Volunteers must register for one of the mandatory training dates listed below. Participants are eligible to register for up to 2 weeks of in-camp volunteering. Registration for placement weeks will be sent out after the training registration is complete. MANDATORY TRAINING SESSIONS Location: AFLC Training sessions are for participants in the Youth Volunteer Pilot Program. Volunteers must register for and attend one mandatory training date. Participants must complete one of these sessions before volunteering at camp; no exceptions will be made.
