TOMORROWLAND TODAY
AMELIE LENS What went through your head when you were told Tomorrowland could not go ahead this year? “Feelings like that are hard to put into words... Even though I’ve been considering the possibility that the festival season would be cancelled for a while, I’m an optimist and I still felt a bit hopeful.” What would you like to say to fans who were looking forward to seeing your set this year? “I was looking forward to it as well, but we should remind ourselves that health is always the most important thing, and that this is beyond anyone’s control.” What’s your summer going to look like now that you won’t be DJing? “I’m hoping the measures will be a bit more flexible so that I can at least go visit my family and see some friends. But it’s going to be a very unusual summer for sure…” Can you mention one key song that you definitely knew was going to be in your Tomorrowland set? “My new tracks that are still unreleased for now. I was really excited to play them at Tomorrowland.” Are you seeing the current situation as an opportunity to do something you haven’t had enough time for previously? “On a professional level, I’m focusing more on hardware now, and on a personal level I want to learn Spanish and I have also started meditating.” It’s time to flip the ‘don’t try this at home’ warning around. What should people definitely try at home when they’re bored and maybe a little sad? “Dance by yourself!” 36
