BREAKFAST Black Bear Diner 6039 W. Bell Road, blackbeardiner.com 602-843-1921

This has been a good year for Black Bear Diner: The restaurant chain is celebrating its 25th anniversary and, on top of that, Glendale residents have voted the best local spot to get breakfast. This community-focused, bearthemed diner is fun for the whole family, with plenty of carvings and murals; but it’s not just about atmosphere—Black Bear Diner aims to provide quality homestyle comfort foods. While the diner does have lunch, dinner and dessert menus, we’re here to spotlight its breakfast, served all day, from things like chicken fried steak and READER RECOMMENDED eggs to pancakes, waffles and French Kiss the Cook Restaurant & Antiques toast; omelets 4915 W. COFFEE SHOP

Dutch Bros

6965 N. 95th Ave. dutchbros.com 541-955-4700 At this stage, Dutch Bros should need no introduction. Perhaps it doesn’t, hence why it topped our readers’ favorite coffee in the city. But for those who are new to the brotherhood, the private drive-thru chain is perfect for those looking to get in an out quick. Outside temps are still a bit hot, so you can continue to drink any of the many cold coffee or noncoffee beverages you may enjoy, but for those looking to get into the fall spirit, surely you can make the jump to warmer flavors—like the caramel pumpkin brûlée (pumpkin and salted caramel breve with whip, pumpkin drizzle and raw sugar—don’t worry, you can ice it, too).
