Ward’s Nursery & Garden Center offers a festive destination for families in November and December with workshops for youth and adults to decorate for the holidays. Workshops include Make a Gift Terrarium ($25) on Nov 2; Thanksgiving Centerpiece ($25) on Nov 23; Your Choice: Boxwood Tree or Kissing Ball ($30) on Dec 7 or Dec 8. Sides can be boring, but these are showstoppers. They are healthy, easy to make, and will become must-dos at your family Thanksgiving celebrations. The best thing is, you can make them anytime during the season, not just for Thanksgiving! Dishes will include butternut squash and Brussels sprouts in agrodolce, sweet potato surprise, and cranberry sauce with maple syrup and ginger. Join us for a magical experience at Naumkeag in Stockbridge as it sparkles with thousands of shimmering and artfully designed holiday lights. Bring the family for scavenger hunts, crafts, seasonal characters and experiences, food and refreshments, and more. Winterlights runs multiple evenings each week starting the weekend before Thanksgiving and running through the end of December. This classic event was so popular last year that we’ve added a second date. Enjoy a delicious buffet, sit on Santa’s lap, and take part in crafts, music, story time, and visiting with animals in the Round Stone Barn.
