The newer, back wing of the house was built in 1790 with bricks made at Myrtle Grove and laid in a Flemish bond pattern. In the living room, a window behind the 1888 Steinway grand piano contains the engraved signature of Robert E. Lee. The cur rent ow ners have under taken extensive renovations, including the construction of a pool house, barn and gate house along with the installation of extensive gardens and a pond.
