Through scanning the QR codes, mallgoers will be able to see an image of a particular artwork from a selection of pieces curated by the Fine Arts division of the National Museum of the Philippines.

Inheritance: Tracing Lineage & Inspiration celebrates the multi-faceted roles fathers play in shaping one’s identity and delves into the depths of fatherhood and its profound influence on a person’s life.

On view until July 8, at the Imahica Art Gallery, the group exhibit honors the influential figures that have shaped our lives and celebrates the universal bond of fatherhood as shown in the pieces created by father and daughter artists Nikulas Lebajo and Beatrice Lebajo. Their artworks serve as powerful reminders of the impact fathers have on our lives, acting as sources of inspiration, guidance, and unwavering support.

Nikulas’ artistic style can best be de- scribed as minimalist-realist, a manifestation of his relentless pursuit of serenity and harmony. His creations are characterized by their ability to evoke profound beauty and tranquility, engendering a Zen-like effect on all who behold them.

With a keen eye for detail and an extraordinary command of technique, he predominantly explores the ethereal allure of glassware, bottles, jars, the human figure, and portraiture. He often intertwines these themes with a deep-rooted reverence for nature and a commitment to preserving our fragile environment.

As an artist continuously evolving, Nikulas courageously embraces contemporary subject matters that mirror the ever-changing tapestry of our times. He fearlessly ventures into uncharted artistic territories, deftly capturing the essence of our rapidly evolving world.

As an emerging artist, Beatrice is poised to make a significant impact on the art world. Her trajectory is characterized by her relentless pursuit of artistic growth, her commitment to embracing both tradition and innovation, and her unwavering dedication to sharing her unique perspective with the world.

With each stroke of her brush, Beatrice breathes life into her creations, capturing the essence of human emotion and leaving an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of those fortunate enough to experience her art.

Beatrice is a blossoming artist who defies expectations and breathes life into her canvases. Born with an innate talent and a creative spirit that knows no boundaries, she has emerged as a vibrant force in the realm of TraDigital Fine Art, bridging the gap between traditional and digital mediums.

At just 19 years old, Beatrice exudes a maturity and depth that belies her youth, captivating audiences with her unique perspective and captivating artwork.

Beatrice embarked on her academic pursuit of artistic excellence at the prestigious Adventist University of the Philippines (AUP), where she is currently pursuing her Bachelor of TraDigital Fine Art with a major in Visual Communication and Design. Under the tutelage of esteemed professors and mentors, she has honed her skills and expanded her artistic horizons, exploring the delicate interplay between the traditional and digital artworks and artists, and drive them to visit the National Museum itself to experience their entire collection.

Featuring the work of many revered Filipino artists, such as Félix Resurrección Hidalgo, Juan Luna, Fernando Amorsolo, Ang Kiukok, and Guillermo Tolentino ARt in MOA is a one-of-akind initiative that seeks to strengthen the connection between Filipinos and their heritage. With such famous masterpieces available through the simple touch of one’s mobile device, SM Mall of Asia and the National Museum of the Philippines are one in promoting Filipino art and art appreciation for all.
