The Glenn Gould School proudly presents two newly appointed, internationally known faculty members in recital: pianist John O’Conor and cellist Desmond Hoebig. The program includes a set of solo piano Nocturnes by John Fields and Fryderyk Chopin, and Beethoven’s Cello Sonata No. 3. In the second half of the concert they will be joined by other faculty members in Schumann’s Piano Quintet.

ARC Ensemble and GGS faculty member, pianist/harpsichordist David Louie, joins violinist Véronique Mathieu in a program of three Bach sonatas for violin and harpsichord. The program will also include Händel’s Harpsichord Suite No. 5 and selected Scarlatti sonatas for solo harpsichord.

Afiara String Quartet Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 7:30pm | MCH The Afiara String Quartet, known for its “remarkable sonic blend and heartbeat-synced ensemble attack,” (The Georgia Straight ) continues its Fellowship at The Glenn Gould School. The evening’s program will include Haydn’s String Quartet in C Major, Op. 50, No. 2, and Schumann’s String Quartet in A Minor.

Toronto Symphony Orchestra Principal Trombone Gordon Wolfe joins colleagues Christopher Gongos (TSO Principal Horn) and Andrew McCandless (TSO Principal Trumpet) in a concert featuring solo and brass ensemble pieces.

Alexandra Koerner Yeo Chair in Cello and Artist-inResidence at The Glenn Gould School, internationally renowned cellist Andrés Díaz leads a solo and chamber program, including Schubert’s String Quintet in C Major with the Arkadas String Quartet.
