PROJECTS IN THE WORKS

It’ll be a big year for sport and recreation upgrades, with a range of projects to begin construction early this year. The Bacchus Marsh Sports Stadium (Stage 1 of MARC) is expected to start construction in February, with a 4-court basketball stadium to be constructed in Taverner St. The 1000+ Steps Project is also due to be completed in August. Construction of new pavilions at the Darley and Ballan Recreation Reserves are due to begin in January and February/March respectively, and Stage 2 of the Bacchus Marsh Racecourse Reserve works are likely to begin in March, with two soccer pitches, an Aussie rules oval, a playground, and car parks to be built. The Mill Park skate park and 3x3 court are likely to commence construction in March in Ballan, and the Aqualink shared user path remains under construction. Design of the Ballan Library will also be advanced during 2022, while the West Maddingley Early Years Hub at Stonehill Estate is likely to begin construction in mid-2022.
