A Tribute to Fred Rosenkampff, Sr
In August of ’22 The Southern Link of GA (now The Link Companies) lost its founder, Fred Rosenkampff, Sr. He passed away peacefully at his home in Sylva, NC “Pops” or “Rosie” as he was known to family and friends, was 84. While he sold the company to his sons (Fred, Jr and Brad) in 1999 and walked away from the industry, he enjoyed long discussions regarding The Link until his recent passing
He loved hearing about the showroom, what vendors were selling well, and the latest trends Most importantly, he always wanted to know how the reps were performing and spending time “looking over the numbers.”Fred was a true leader. His acumen for sales and his leadership skills led to the formation of his proudest achievement…a sales organization that would become one of the most successful manufacturers’ representative agencies in America. Fred was an innovator in the gift/home industry with significant influence on how sales agencies should operate. He enjoyed interacting with people and never met a sales challenge he didn’t like. Many of his sales principles are being practiced today
One of his favorite acronyms, still visible at The Link showroom: MMFI—which stand for Make Me Feel Important Fred, Sr laid the foundation for The Link and always considered the team as family.
The legend will be missed but his Link Legacy lives on.
