Q Is it bad form to have guests pay for their own drinks at our after-party?

A An after-party is always a great way to continue the festivities. You’ve already spent a lot on the wedding, but keep in mind that most of your friends, especially those in your wedding party, have had to empty their pockets too. Chances are many guests will offer to pay for drinks at the bar, wanting to buy a round in honor of the newlyweds. But if you’ve sent invitations or made it an official part of the wedding weekend, it’s probably a good idea for you to cover the cost.

Q Should I remove my engagement ring for the ceremony, or place the band on top of my ring? first on your ring finger, closest to your heart. To avoid an awkward switch at the altar, put your engagement ring on your right ring finger or stow it in a safe place (if you’re comfortable with that). On the way to the reception, return it to your left ring finger, above your new wedding band.

Q A

I feel overwhelmed with planning and would love to have my bridal party pitch in. How much can I ask of them? Your bridesmaids are there to support you, but it’s still your wedding, so don’t give them duties that should fall to you, your fiancé and your families (like venue hunting). That said, ask them to go dress shopping with you, help address invitations and take control of day-of errands and chores, like manning the escort card table.

Q What are some creative and tasteful ways to display our hashtag?

A There are many fun, elegant ways to share your hashtag with guests. Go bold with a chalkboard or wall sign with a sweet message and your hashtag in calligraphy or block letters, or place a painted wood sign near the guest book or directional signs. For a more low-key look, print your hashtag on your cocktail napkins, menus, table numbers, photo booth props or a pretty sign for the bar. >>
