Any tips for our couples having seaside destination weddings or engagement shoots on the beach? It can be a lot more difficult than it looks. I would say bring a large umbrella (for when you’re not shooting or to use as a fun prop) and try to stay in the shade as much as possible. As beautiful as the beach is, the sun can be your worst enemy. Shoot in the morning and the late afternoon when the light is best, and take a long break in the middle of the day when the heat peaks. @sergiokurhajec

SHAUNA LYNN PANCZYSZYN ILLUSTRATOR,

“Your Smart Home Registry” (p. 155)

We love illustrated invites for low-key weddings. What do you think it is about illustrations that make them so much fun? There’s a casual energy to them that can really show the couple’s personalities. I draw every letter by hand. Each has its own uniqueness and will never be exactly the same, so the personality is clear. And while elegant is always nice, the right illustrations and style can take those invites from pretty to amazing.

What’s your recipe for stunning, genuine photos? A dash of loud music you just can’t help but dance to, a sprinkle of beautiful lighting, at least two wind machines (kidding, of course) and a photographer who’s willing to make a fool of himself leading you in a dance of poses. Plus, an incredible glam team to boost your natural beauty and an outfit that makes you look amazing and fits your personality. All that and you just might get that unforced, timeless picture. @michelson_ari

DANIELLA SHACHTER

MAKEUP ARTIST, “Engaging Beauty” (p. 282)

What are your best prewedding makeup tips? Skin care definitely first and foremost. Always wet and moisturize your face before your makeup application. If you’re working with a makeup artist, have a trial run before your wedding to get to know each other. If that’s not possible, bring pictures of what you’d like your day-of look to be. These can be from Pinterest, magazines or even images of you in makeup you’ve liked in the past.

EDITORIAL ASSISTANT, FASHION & BEAUTY

What are your favorite fashion and beauty trends for summer? I love the no-makeup makeup look for summer brides. Dewy skin, full lashes, a subtle highlighter (like the RMS Beauty Magic Luminizer) and a flush of color is all you need for a fresh-faced glow. As for dresses, modern silhouettes are my favorite alternatives to traditional gowns. I’m loving off-the-shoulder styles, deep V-neck sheaths and even chic jumpsuits. @simplyfarah
