He left the Prison Service to become Executive Director at the international charity, Prisoners Abroad. Eventually hospitalised (after four years of gas, and suffering from trench foot) in England, he never went home – one Creedon line had arrived in England. DAVID ENGLISH Customer Contact Advisor, Independent Police Complaints Commission David English, from Ravensdale in Co. Louth, studied at Lancaster University. His role at the IPCC involves evaluating the validity of appeals and advising on the complaints process. KATHLEEN GARRETT Partner, Arthur Cox, London London-based finance lawyer Kathleen Garrett trained in Dublin with Arthur Cox and has been a partner in the firm since 1998. KEVIN GALLAGHER Digital Change Director, Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service Formerly the Chief Information Officer at Channel 4, Kevin Gallagher joined Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service in 2015. The body is responsible for the administration of criminal, civil and family courts and tribunals throughout England and Wales. PROFESSOR CONOR GEARTY Professor of Human Rights Law, London School of Economics From Abbeylara, Co. Longford, Conor Gearty graduated in law from University College Dublin before embarking on an academic career. She was born in Glasgow to Joshua Patrick and Mary Kennedy, both committed Labour activists. Kennedy still regularly attends Mass and professes that her Catholicism “remains very much part of who I am”, even though she eschews its more traditional values.
