T
he transition from military service to civilian life can be challenging. Many seek opportunities to leverage their unique skills, including leadership, discipline, teamwork, and a missionoriented mindset. These traits, honed through years of service, align closely with the qualities needed to succeed in franchising. Not surprisingly, about 15% of franchisees are owned by a military veteran— or one in seven franchises. And veterans are very much in demand by franchisors. A VetFran survey found that 97% of franchisors state veterans make excellent franchisees, explaining the more than 650 franchise systems that offer considerable financial incentives to veterans. As franchisees, veterans lead teams, follow proven business processes, and work towards clear business goals—all within a supportive framework. Franchising offers a sense of purpose that resonates with veterans, helping them navigate the post-service transition successfully.
