Garnet Media Group
Established in 2017, Garnet Media Group represents the collective partnership between the student media organizations at the University of South Carolina — The Daily Gamecock, SGTV, Garnet & Black and WUSC — and serves as the umbrella brand for those organizations, as well as an additional outlet for students’ collaborative efforts. The Daily Gamecock is USC’s source for news relating to campus, Columbia and the student, parent and alumni populations it serves. The news organization’s print product, The Gamecock, is published twice a semester and is distributed to more than 130 locations on campus and in the surrounding area. Garnet & Black Magazine is the twice-annual student-led magazine known for its high-quality design, photography and long-form articles and stories. Each issue reaches thousands of readers each year in the Carolina community. Garnet Media Group's marketing team also produces two special publications per year: Best of Carolina, a round-up of the best businesses and organizations in the Carolina community as decided by audience votes, and Carolina Insider, an overview of life at Carolina that specifically focuses on opportunities in and around student life.
