HYPER-LUXE LIVING Lifestyle demographic drives new direction for luxury apartment design.
LEADING LOCAL AGENTS claim there is an undeniable demographic shift that is influencing the design of high-end new residential developments. The emergence of the ‘lifestyle demographic’, as coined by demographer Bernard Salt in a recent report, has led to a rise in demand for lifestyle property, and according to NPA Projects Director Andrew Erwin that’s exactly what we are seeing on the Gold Coast. “The movement towards more high-end, fullfloor apartment projects with luxe resort-style amenities on the Gold Coast has been largely influenced by the surge in interstate migration and locals, and savvy developers are tailoring

their designs to appeal to this new lifestyle demographic,” Andrew said. “The lifestyle demographic covers people aged 56-64, generally semi-retired or early retired Australians pursuing both work and leisure. “Many are not looking to downsize necessarily, but they are looking to reduce the level of maintenance and upkeep that goes along with a freestanding home. “They still want to maintain a level of luxury and feel like they are in a separate dwelling. “Buyers in this lifestyle stage also have higher expectations when it comes to amenities and communal facilities,” he added. >>
