STYLE AND THE CITY Brisbane Fashion Festival returns with a style-packed 2022 Program.

BRISBANE FASHION FESTIVAL organisers have unveiled the official program for 2022, which includes sought-after designers and hundreds of fresh new-season looks sure to delight fashion fans. Returning to the iconic King George Square from Monday 22 – Friday 26 August, this year’s event features a thrilling line-up of more than 50 designers – from the hottest labels in Australian fashion, to Queensland favourites and the brightest emerging design talent – presenting in excess of 400 unique, inspiring, and must-have looks for the new Spring/Summer season. “We are proud to release our program for Brisbane Fashion Festival 2022,” said Festival Director, Lindsay Bennett. “With a packed 5-day program featuring the best in local and national fashion design, both on and off the runway, this year’s Festival promises exciting events and plenty of new-season style inspiration for fashion fans; as well as a worldclass platform to support our fashion industry, and celebrate our city of Brisbane.” The Brisbane Fashion Festival runway program kicks off on Tuesday night, 23 August, with the Treasury Brisbane Fashion Show; a showcase of the biggest designers and retailers, and cult favourites in Australia.

See new-season styles from Ginger & Smart, Carla Zampatti, Bianca Spender, Calibre, Oroton, Paul Hunt, ShiloLydia, Samantha Ogilvie, Camargue, Morrison and Gail Sorronda. On Wednesday night, 24 August, fashion lovers will be treated to the newest, the brightest, and the next big names in fashion design in the Hancock Prospecting Next Gen Group Show. A diverse and original mix of creativity will hit the runway, including designs from Mitch Graham Suit Studio, TAFE Queensland Brisbane, KG BOLD, Whitehouse Institute of Design, Bella Lusso, QUT Fashion, Teddy McRitchie Design, Lightning Boy, Joteo and Practice Studio. The organisers are also proud this year to celebrate First Nations fashion and creativity, opening the show with designs by MYRRDAH, JARAWEE and MAARA Collective. Thursday night, 25 August, brings a spectacular showcase of some of Queensland’s most-loved designers and retailers, including Calexico + Calexico Man, Gina Kim, PALMA MARTÎN, URBBANA, Sonia Stradiotto Couture, Naudic, White Label Noba, MORENO MARCOS, Sacha Drake, Girl and the Sun, Astille, and Wil Valor. The style celebration continues off the runway, with a series of special events.

World of Wonder: Margot McKinney High Tea with Brisbane Fashion Festival, hosted by Museum of Brisbane on Thursday 25 and Friday 26 August, invites you to share a moment of indulgence as you feast your eyes on the world’s rarest gems, followed by a leisurely high tea with decadent treats.
