More than 250 goals were recorded

More than 250 goals were shot in the three Senior Netball games played at Ward Oval on Sunday.
The Divas’ shooters Lauren Urquhart and Corinne McLeod were the biggest contributors to the tally as they scored an incredible 96 goals between them.
(The scorers had to recycle part of the scoresheet to record all Divas’ points as the scoresheets only go up to 80.)
They played the new team in the competition, Tooth Fairies, winning 96-10.
Urquhart and McLeod were in sensational form sinking goals at a rapid rate all game to help them to their comprehensive win over Tooth Fairies.
Elizabeth Curtis and Roslyn Lancaster were Tooth Fairies’ best on court.
Pumpettes and JKM also contributed to the day’s big tally with 75 goals recorded in their game.
While JKM matched Pumpettes for the first half, Pumpettes however pulled away in the second half to finish with a comfortable 23 point win, 49-26.
Pumpettes’ Sosie Barton and Neve Carter shared in the game’s Best & Fairest points with JKM’s Stevie Toomey.
Another 72 goals were recorded in the Nymagee Magpies and Pink Galahs game with Nymagee Magpies finishing as 59-13 winners.
Nymagee Magpies were well served by Taylah Good and Georgia Boland in their 46 point win. Pink Galahs’ best on court were Crystal King and Ashley Cousins.
Anyone looking to play netball and not already in a team, is urged to contact the committee who will find them a spot.
Dartaholics continue to dominate
The Golfie Dartaholics got the better of the Golfie Spearchuckers in last Wednesday’s local darts competition finishing with an 8-3 win.
In the other games played, the Empire Barflies took on the RSL Dingoes with the Barflies coming out on top 7-4 while RSL had a close 6-5 win in their game against the Golfie Gophers.
Hundreds and high scores were recorded by: Golfie Gophers Daniel Duell 100 and Les Hooker 100; RSL Tony Brown 125 and Tyler Roberts 133; RSL Dingoes Waylon Ward 100 and Linda Miller 100; Empire Barflies Craig Youd 125 and Kyle Loughran
110; Golfie Dartaholics Jason Arnold 100, 100, Craig Jones 140, 135, 121, 125, 100, Kylie Tiffen 140 and Bian Smith 103, 111; and Golfie Spearchuckers Dick Tulloh 132, 100 and Robbie Cummins 129, 104.
The highest score for the week was 140, which was recorded by both Craig Jones and Kylie Tiffen.
The men’s highest peg out was 104, thrown by Robbie Cummins, while 59 was the ladies’ best peg out, recorded by Lesley Hooker.
In tonight’s matches Golfie Spearchuckers will take on Golfie Gophers, Golfie Dartaholics meet Empire Barflies and RSL Dingoes are up against RSL.
