CLUB NEWS

The Craft Group

The Craft Group hosted a stall at The British Club’s Christmas Bazaar in November. Our Members’ handmade Christmas decorations, bunting, table runners, place mats, gift bags, toys and many other festive items all sold well. Proceeds from the stall, together with the raffle of a quilt and wall hanging, raised the substantial sum of $5,800. The Club very generously rounded this up to $6,000 and we were delighted to contribute cheques of $3,000 each to Riding for the Disabled and The Gurkha Welfare Trust. The Craft Group is for everyone who enjoys coffee, conversation and crafts. We meet every Tuesday in the Tree Tops lounge from 10am and would like to extend an invitation to everyone, from curious beginners to experienced crafters, to come and join us. We quilt, knit, crochet, weave, felt, colour, paint and make jewellery. You can bring your own projects or join in with larger group efforts. Please do come and join us. You can even follow the group on FaceBook!

New Child Seat Facilities! In response to the feedback from Member Adele Hamilton, we have introduced child seats in the shower rooms located at The Sports Centre. We hope all Mothers and children will enjoy the new features! The Management

The British Club sends its deepest condolences to the family of the late Philip Caroline. Philip was the oldest member of the Club at 93 when he passed on in January this year. A frequent visitor to The Windsor Arms and member of the Barflies Quiz Team, Philip will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by us all.
