From the Director

The first Shakespeare play I ever performed in was THE TEMPEST in 1995, directed by Jean-Pierre Voos for Shakespeare Under the Stars. So this one feels like a bit of a homecoming for me and a tribute to my old mentor. The role I played back then was Ariel , so it has been particularly rewarding for me to have my niece Emma tackle the same role in her first leading role for the company and I am so very proud of the Ariel she has created.

There is something very special about this play, something truly magical that you can’t quite put your finger on. As though Shakespeare has hidden a spell within his language and we are left completely charmed. I am very grateful to this team for the absolute joy this show has been to work on. To Lachlan and Thomasthank you for coming home to be a part of this event and for continuing to share your talents with the company. To Brendan - thank you for your gift of Prospero.
