Árboles centenarios le dan frescura y sombra el espacio que, como dato curioso, formó parte de los escenarios de Polvo: película mexicana — nominada a los premios Ariel 2020—, producida por José María Yazpik, quien ha comentado que San Ignacio lo defnió por ser uno de los sitios que lo vio crecer.

Aquí, en la plaza pública los habitantes fomentan la conversación y espíritu comunitario mientras se relajan sentados en las bancas, y desde donde se aprecia la enorme iglesia en honor a San Ignacio que comenzó a edifcarse —bajo la dirección del misionero jesuita Fernando Consag, de origen croata— poco antes de 1760. Viajeros, trotamundos y curiosos pasean por sus calles adoquinadas, y visitan los negocios o restaurantes distribuidos alrededor.

José María Yazpik, the producer of the Mexican movie "Polvo," which is competing for an Ariel 2020 award, has said that San Ignacio defned him because it was one of the places where he spent his formative years.

The inhabitants here encourage conversation and community spirit they enjoy relaxing on benches in the square and gazing up at the massive church dedicated to San Ignacio, which was started to be erected - under the supervision of the Croatian-born Jesuit priest Fernando Consag - just before 1760. Tourists, globetrotters, and the curious enjoy a stroll through the cobblestone streets and visit the stores and restaurants.
